How Berlin differs from the nationwide German holidays

Berlin adds one Feiertag to the nationwide German Feiertage: der Frauentag (Internationaler Frauentag) on 8 March, which the list of gesetzliche Feiertage of the Senatsverwaltung für Inneres und Sport names alongside the nationwide days. 8 March falls on a Sunday in 2026, so it closes no weekday that year; it falls on a Monday in 2027 and a Wednesday in 2028, when it does. The same page names the Reformationstag as a religious holiday, not a gesetzlicher Feiertag, so it is not in this calendar.
