Pair these tools with Spanish B2B workflows

EU Directive 2011/7 was transposed by Ley 3/2004; it caps private-sector payment at 60 days and public-sector at 30, with statutory interest at the ECB main refinancing rate plus 8 percentage points once due. The Late Payment Interest Calculator computes the running balance, and the Invoice Due Date Calculator stages the 30 and 60-day caps against the national fiestas calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which holidays are included for Spain?
The calculator preselects días festivos nacionales for Spain sourced from Estatuto de los Trabajadores Real Decreto Legislativo 2/2015 y Real Decreto anual. The list and 2024-2029 dates are summarised on this page. Use the Advanced options to layer any regional or industry-specific dates that apply to a particular contract.
What is the Spain workweek?
Spain's working week runs with a sábado and domingo weekend. The calculator excludes both weekend days and the listed public holidays from the working-day count.
Why does the Spanish calendar vary year-to-year?
The Spanish national fiestas laborables are set by Real Decreto each year, with up to 14 holidays consisting of 9 nationally-fixed (e.g., Año Nuevo, Día del Trabajo, Asunción, Día de la Constitución, Navidad), 2 Comunidad Autónoma-set (regional), and 2 municipality-set days. This calculator uses only the national-fixed set; regional and municipal holidays vary widely (Catalonia observes Sant Jordi on April 23; Andalusia observes Día de Andalucía on February 28; the Basque Country observes Día del País Vasco). For region-specific contracts, add the regional dates under Advanced options.
How does Sunday observance work for Spanish national holidays?
When a Spanish national fiesta falls on a Sunday, the Comunidades Autónomas may declare the following Monday as the substitute holiday, but this is not automatic under national law and varies by autonomous community and by year. This calculator does not preemptively shift Sunday-falling national holidays; check the Real Decreto for the specific year and region. The Constitución, Día de Todos los Santos, and major Catholic fixed-date holidays are commonly shifted by regional decree when they fall on Sunday.
