días festivos in February 2027

No Spain-wide holidays fall on a weekday in February 2027, so the month loses no working day to a holiday on this calendar.

Spain February deadlines

February is where the monthly IVA regime shows its one irregularity. Article 71.4 of the Reglamento del IVA gives monthly filers thirty days after each period, except for the January return, which runs "hasta el último día del mes de febrero". When that last day falls on a Saturday the AEAT moves it to the next business day, as it does for any deadline landing on a non-working day. Withholding under Modelo 111 keeps the ordinary window and closes on February 20.

Those dates in 2027

None of the dates named above falls on a working day in 2027 under the Spain-wide calendar. A fixed calendar date advances by one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, so which side of the working week it lands on changes on a four-year cycle rather than staying put.

This table resolves weekdays and nothing else. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day is set by the instrument that creates it, and no shift rule is assumed here for any jurisdiction. The sources behind each calendar are listed in the source register.

Spain reporting cycles and business-day rules

Each provision cited here sets a filing window, not a single date. Article 71.4 of the Reglamento del IVA puts the quarterly VAT return (Modelo 303) in the first twenty días naturales (calendar days) of the month after the quarter, the return for the last period of the year in the first thirty of January, and a monthly return in the first thirty of the following month, or by the last day of February for January. Article 111.1 of the Reglamento del IRPF puts the pagos fraccionados (Modelos 130 and 131) between the 1st and the 20th of April, July and October, and the fourth quarter's between the 1st and the 30th of January. Under Article 108.1, withholdings (Modelo 111 among the returns) are declared in the first twenty días naturales of April, July, October and January, and in the first twenty of every month where numbers 1 and 2 of Article 71.3 of the Reglamento del IVA apply or where, for the income the article names, the withholder is a public administration whose last approved annual budget exceeds 6 million euros. Article 124.1 of Ley 27/2014 puts the Impuesto sobre Sociedades return (Modelo 200) in the 25 días naturales that follow the six months after the end of the tax period. The AEAT's 2026 taxpayer calendar says that a deadline which falls on a local or regional holiday ends on the next día hábil, except Modelo 369; the AEAT page on the Modelo 303 filing period adds that Saturday is inhábil and that a last filing day which is inhábil moves to the next día hábil.

How February 2027 compares year over year

February 2026 also had 20 días laborables, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year. On the surrounding months, January 2027 has 19 días laborables and March 2027 has 22. Looking forward, February 2028 has 21 días laborables under the same Spain-wide holiday calendar.

Using this calculator in Spain

The 20 business days of February 2027 are its Monday-to-Friday days less the days of the calculator's Spain set, the days that are a holiday in all seventeen comunidades autónomas, in Ceuta and in Melilla; a holiday missing from any of those territories is not in the set. The count measures the days the month offers for preparing a return, not where a filing window ends: Article 124.1 of Ley 27/2014, for one, sets the window for the Impuesto sobre Sociedades return (Modelo 200) in días naturales (calendar days), the 25 that follow the six months after the end of the tax period. A window's end can also move: the AEAT's 2026 taxpayer calendar says that a deadline which falls on a local or regional holiday ends on the next día hábil, except Modelo 369, whose filing period does not move.

How February 2027 is shaped

The headline count answers how many días laborables February 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Spain-wide holiday calendar and a working week that treats sábado and domingo as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.

The only month whose length changes

February is the shortest month and the only one whose length is not fixed, running 28 days in a common year and 29 in a leap year. A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, which makes it the only month capable of containing precisely four of every weekday. February 2027 runs 28 days, so it has that perfectly regular shape.

In February 2027 that comes to 20 días laborables across 28 calendar days, against 19 in January 2027 and 22 in March 2027.

A clean start to the working week

February 2027 opens on the first working day of the week. That is the alignment where the month's own numbering and the working week agree: week one of the month is a whole working week that belongs entirely to February, with nothing borrowed from the month before. Of the 5 possible starts this is the only one where "the first week" and "the first 5 días laborables" describe the same span.

The opening stretch runs from Monday, February 1 to February 5, five días laborables before the first break. February 2027 carries 20 días laborables in total, so that opening block is 25% of the month's working capacity.

How the working days break up

The working days of February 2027 fall into four separate stretches. The count of stretches matters more than it looks: a month's total is the sum of its runs, but a deliverable that needs consecutive days is limited by the longest single run, and the two numbers move independently.

The working days of February 2027 arrive in stretches of 5, 5, 5, and 5 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from February 1 to February 5. A task needing more consecutive días laborables than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.

The month is balanced end to end. Its opening and closing stretches are the same length, five days each, so work pushed from the start of February to its end finds the same amount of room it left behind. That symmetry is the exception rather than the rule.

The only perfectly regular month

A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, so every weekday occurs four times and no weekday is over-represented. It is the only month of the year that can be perfectly regular, and it means February's working-day count in a common year depends on nothing but its holidays: the weekday alignment cannot change the answer.

Only Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the sábado and domingo weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.

A month with no closures, and a lean one

No Spain-wide holiday falls anywhere in February 2027. When a month carries no closure, its working-day count is decided entirely by which weekday it opens on and how long it runs, so the whole of the difference between this month and its neighbours is calendar alignment. Here that alignment produces 20 días laborables, at the low end of what a 28-day month can yield.

A short count with no holiday in it is worth flagging on a plan, because the usual explanation does not apply: nothing was lost to a closure. The month simply begins and ends in positions that put more of its days on the sábado and domingo weekend.

The closures on either side of the month

Nothing closes inside February 2027 under the Spain-wide calendar, so the useful question is what sits on either side of it. Adjacent closures matter to a monthly plan because deadlines that fall near a month boundary are usually satisfied on the other side of it.

Looking outside the month, the last was Epifanía del Señor on January 6, 2027, 26 calendar days before February began and the next is Viernes Santo on March 26, 2027, 26 calendar days after it ends.

Across the whole of 2027 the Spain-wide calendar puts seven closures on working days, of which none falls in February. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.

The month ends over a weekend

February 2027 ends on a Sunday, which this calendar treats as weekend. Month-end processing cannot happen on the last calendar day, so it happens earlier and the last few dates of the month carry no settlement at all. The distance between the final working day and the final calendar day is where month-end reconciliations go missing.

The last working day of February 2027 is Friday, February 26. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, February 24, four calendar days before the month closes.

The working month ends on the last working day of a week, so the final stretch is a complete one and nothing is left hanging mid-week. Two calendar days of February follow it with nothing settling on them.

The middle month of the quarter

February is the middle month of Q1. Middle months carry the least visibility in a quarterly cycle: the opening month sets expectations and the closing month is where they are settled, so a shortfall here is the one most likely to be noticed late.

Across the whole quarter there are 61 días laborables, of which 20 fall in February. The other two months carry January 2027 with 19 and March 2027 with 22. It sits between the other two, which makes it the month where a quarterly plan is least likely to be thrown off by the calendar alone.

Every working weekday occurs the same number of times

February 2027 works each weekday of its week the same number of times. That is the flat case, and it is the only one where a weekly recurring commitment costs the same whichever weekday it is pinned to. It happens when the month's length and its closures happen to cancel, not because the month is regular: the calendar census above and this one can agree for quite different reasons.

Counted as worked rather than as occurring, February 2027 gives Monday 4, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 4, Thursday 4, and Friday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.

Toward the short end of the year

February sits among the shorter working months of 2027 under the Spain-wide calendar. A month reaches this end of the ranking either by being short or by absorbing closures, and the two produce the same headline number while behaving differently: a closure fragments the month, a shorter calendar does not.

2027 carries 254 días laborables in total under the Spain-wide calendar. The longest month of the year is March 2027 with 22 and the shortest is January 2027 with 19, a spread of 3. February ranks 10th of the twelve with 20.

Spain closures across the year

A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Spain is placed as follows.

Across 2027 the Spain-wide closures fall 3 in Q1, 0 in Q2, 0 in Q3, and 4 in Q4. A further three holidays land on the sábado and domingo weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.

The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between March 26, 2027 and October 12, 2027, 200 calendar days with no Spain-wide closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.

Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern

Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Spain-wide calendar is no exception.

2027 opens its Spain-wide closures with Año Nuevo on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Inmaculada Concepción on December 8, 2027. The densest month of the year is January 2027 with two closures on working days.

The same count as last year

February 2027 and February 2026 carry the same number of días laborables, 20 in each. An unchanged total does not mean an unchanged month: the working days sit on different dates and break into different stretches, so a schedule copied forward date by date will not line up even though the capacity has not moved.

February opens 2026 on a Sunday, 2027 on a Monday, and 2028 on a Tuesday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, February 2028 carries 21 días laborables.

Where the month's anchor dates fall

Two of the common monthly anchor dates in February 2027 land outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the Spain-wide calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.

DateWeekdayStatus under the Spain-wide calendarFirst working day on or after
February 1MondayWorking dayFebruary 1
February 5FridayWorking dayFebruary 5
February 10WednesdayWorking dayFebruary 10
February 15MondayWorking dayFebruary 15
February 20SaturdayWeekendFebruary 22, 2027
February 25ThursdayWorking dayFebruary 25
February 28SundayWeekendMarch 1, 2027

The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.

Net terms dated in February 2027

An invoice dated the 1st of February on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on March 3, 2027, a working day under the Spain-wide calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.

Invoice dateNet 30, calendar daysNet 60, calendar days
Dated February 1March 3, 2027April 2, 2027
Dated February 15March 17, 2027April 16, 2027
Dated February 28March 30, 2027April 29, 2027

Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Spain calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are in February 2027 under the Spain-wide holiday calendar?
February 2027 has 20 días laborables under the Spain-wide holiday calendar. The month spans 28 calendar days, of which 8 fall on a weekend and 0 are Spain-wide holidays that land on a weekday. The remaining 20 weekdays are countable as días laborables for invoicing, deadline tracking, and contract math.
Which Spain holidays affect February 2027?
February 2027 contains no Spain-wide holidays that fall on a weekday, so on this calculator's holiday set the month loses no working day.
Why does the Spanish calendar vary year-to-year?
Part of the calendar is each comunidad autónoma's choice. Article 37.2 of the Estatuto de los Trabajadores allows no more than fourteen fiestas laborales a year, two of them local, and lets a community add one more, recoverable, in a year when too few national holidays fall on a Sunday for it to set one of its traditional holidays. It names four national days to be respected in any case: the Natividad del Señor, Año Nuevo, 1 May and 12 October. Article 45.1 of Real Decreto 2001/1983 lists the national days, and nine of them, those four included, cannot be replaced (letters a to c). The letter d days, Jueves Santo, the Epifanía del Señor and San José or Santiago Apóstol, a community may replace with traditional holidays of its own, as it may the Monday rest that follows a national holiday on a Sunday (article 45.3). The communities send their lists to the ministry before 30 September (article 45.4), and the lists for 2024 to 2027 were published in the BOE as resolutions of the Dirección General de Trabajo, each counting twelve days under these rules. Article 46 adds up to two local holidays a year in each municipality. The calculator's set holds only the days that are a holiday in all seventeen comunidades autónomas, in Ceuta and in Melilla; add a regional or local date under Advanced options.
What happens when a Spanish national holiday falls on a Sunday?
The rest day moves to the Monday. Article 37.2 of the Estatuto de los Trabajadores says the rest for a holiday that coincides with a Sunday is moved "en todo caso", in every case, to the Monday immediately after, and article 45.2 of Real Decreto 2001/1983 repeats it for the national holidays. Each comunidad autónoma may replace that Monday with a traditional holiday of its own (article 45.3), so whether the Monday is a holiday depends on the territory: the list the BOE publishes for the year marks it territory by territory. Those Mondays are not in the calculator's set, which keeps the holiday on its own date; if your territory keeps the Monday, add it under Advanced options.
Why does the business-day count vary year to year?
Two things shift the monthly count for Spain. First, the day of the week the first of the month lands on changes the count of each weekday. Second, Spain-wide holidays anchored to a fixed date shift their weekday across years. Some years a fixed-date holiday lands on a weekend; some countries shift the observance to an adjacent weekday and some absorb it into the weekend. February 2026 also had 20 días laborables, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year.
When is the last working day of February 2027?
The last working day of February 2027 under the Spain-wide calendar is Friday, February 26. The month's last calendar day is Sunday, February 28, which is not a working day, so month-end processing has to happen two calendar days earlier than the calendar suggests. Counting back, the third-to-last working day is Wednesday, February 24.
How many working days in a row does February 2027 offer?
February 2027 has 20 días laborables in total, but they do not run consecutively. They arrive in four stretches of 5, 5, 5, and 5 days, so the longest unbroken run is five days, from February 1 to February 5. No working day in the month is isolated between two closures.
