Mexico February deadlines
Día de la Constitución is not a fixed date. Article 74, fracción II of the Ley Federal del Trabajo makes it the first Monday of February in commemoration of February 5, so it lands anywhere from the 1st to the 7th and always produces a three-day weekend. The CNBV closes banks and the exchanges on that Monday. January activity reports to the SAT by February 17, with IMSS cuotas due the same day. INFONAVIT does not appear: its aportaciones settle two-month periods, and February is one of the six months they skip. Banco de México publishes eight policy announcement dates a year, always on a Thursday at 13:00.

Those dates in 2027
Every date named above falls on a working day in 2027 under the Mexican federal calendar. That is worth checking rather than assuming: the same calendar date moves through the week from year to year, so a date that settles cleanly this year may not next year.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the Mexican federal calendar | First working day on or after |

| February 5 | Friday | Working day | |

This table resolves weekdays and nothing else. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day is set by the instrument that creates it, and no shift rule is assumed here for any jurisdiction. The sources behind each calendar are listed in the source register.

Mexico reporting cycles and business-day rules
Whoever pays salaries must withhold ISR and remit it monthly under Article 96 of the Ley del Impuesto sobre la Renta, and Article 6, fracción I, of the Código Fiscal de la Federación sets the 17th of the following calendar month for withheld contributions where no provision gives another date. IMSS cuotas obrero patronales are to be paid by the 17th of the following month under Article 39 of the Ley del Seguro Social. Two contributions share that day but not that frequency: INFONAVIT aportaciones, whose periodicity the sixth transitional article of the 1997 reform keeps bimonthly until the Ley del ISSSTE sets monthly payment, and the IMSS retiro, cesantía en edad avanzada y vejez cuotas, which the Ley del Seguro Social's own vigésimo séptimo transitorio keeps bimonthly until the payment periods of the ISSSTE and INFONAVIT laws are aligned. Both fall due by the 17th of January, March, May, July, September and November. Article 21 of the Ley del ISSSTE still sets its own retirement and housing payments by two-month periods, due by the 17th of the same six months. A tax period whose last day is a día inhábil runs to the next día hábil under Article 12 of the Código Fiscal de la Federación, whose list of días inhábiles is not Article 74's. For a filer who qualifies, the 17th is where the count starts rather than where it ends: article 5.1 of the decree published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on 26 December 2013 allows provisional or definitive federal returns that are due by the 17th of the following month to be filed one to five días hábiles later, set by the sixth numeric digit of the RFC. In the text published that day, the same article excludes taxpayers who opt to have their financial statements audited (dictaminados) and those of Article 32-H of the Código, the taxpayers it names by reference to Article 20, part B, of the Reglamento Interior del Servicio de Administración Tributaria, the Federation and the states, their decentralised bodies and majority state-owned companies (with the states' parastatal funds and trusts), political parties and associations, and integrated and integrating companies. Article 74 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo lists the días de descanso obligatorio in nine fracciones, three of which a reform published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on 17 January 2006 set on Mondays: the first Monday of February, the third Monday of March and the third Monday of November. Banks follow a separate list. In the Diario Oficial de la Federación of 10 December 2025 the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores published the days of 2026 on which the financial entities it supervises must close their doors and suspend operations. Besides Saturdays, Sundays and the Article 74 dates, that list has four dates Article 74 does not: 2 and 3 April (Maundy Thursday and Good Friday), 2 November and 12 December. This calculator uses the Article 74 set.

How February 2027 compares year over year
February 2026 also had 19 días hábiles, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year. On the surrounding months, January 2027 has 20 días hábiles and March 2027 has 22. Looking forward, February 2028 has 20 días hábiles under the same Mexican federal holiday calendar.
Using this calculator in Mexico
The 19-day count for February 2027 is this calculator's count of días hábiles: Monday to Friday less the días de descanso obligatorio in Article 74 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo. That is this tool's rule, not a general legal definition: Article 74 lists days of mandatory rest and does not define a día hábil. Use the count to plan the work that has to fit before the 17th, the day several monthly obligations share: ISR withheld from salaries, which Article 96 of the Ley del Impuesto sobre la Renta has the payer remit monthly and Article 6, fracción I, of the Código Fiscal de la Federación dates to the 17th of the following calendar month where no provision gives another date, and IMSS cuotas obrero patronales under Article 39 of the Ley del Seguro Social. INFONAVIT aportaciones, whose periodicity the sixth transitional article of the 1997 reform keeps bimonthly until the Ley del ISSSTE sets monthly payment, fall due by the 17th of January, March, May, July, September and November. Banks follow a separate list, which this calculator does not apply: the one the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores published for 2026 has four dates Article 74 does not.

How February 2027 is shaped
The headline count answers how many días hábiles February 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Mexican federal holiday calendar and a working week that treats sábado and domingo as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.
The only month whose length changes
February is the shortest month and the only one whose length is not fixed, running 28 days in a common year and 29 in a leap year. A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, which makes it the only month capable of containing precisely four of every weekday. February 2027 runs 28 days, so it has that perfectly regular shape.
In February 2027 that comes to 19 días hábiles across 28 calendar days, against 20 in January 2027 and 22 in March 2027.
The month opens on a closure
February 2027 begins on a public holiday. Día de la Constitución falls on the 1st, which is a Monday this year, so the calendar month and the working month start on different dates. Any obligation written as "the first of the month" and any obligation written as "the first días hábile" point at different days in February 2027, and a schedule that treats them as interchangeable is wrong by at least one day here.
The month's first working day is Tuesday, February 2, and February 2027 carries 19 días hábiles in total.
How the working days break up
The working days of February 2027 fall into four separate stretches. The count of stretches matters more than it looks: a month's total is the sum of its runs, but a deliverable that needs consecutive days is limited by the longest single run, and the two numbers move independently.
The working days of February 2027 arrive in stretches of 4, 5, 5, and 5 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from February 8 to February 12. A task needing more consecutive días hábiles than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.
The month is back-loaded. It opens with four consecutive days and closes with five, so the room is at the end rather than the start. That is the safer of the two imbalances, because a slip has somewhere to go, but it also makes the opening week a poor sample of the month.
The only perfectly regular month
A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, so every weekday occurs four times and no weekday is over-represented. It is the only month of the year that can be perfectly regular, and it means February's working-day count in a common year depends on nothing but its holidays: the weekday alignment cannot change the answer.
Only Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the sábado and domingo weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.
One closure, and where it lands
February 2027 carries a single Mexican federal closure on a working day: Día de la Constitución on Monday, February 1. A holiday's cost to a month is not only the day it removes; it is also where the removal falls, because the same closure can extend an existing break or cut a working stretch in half.
Falling in the first week, it takes its day out of the month's opening capacity, which is already the part of the month most schedules over-commit.
The closure arrives before any working day has passed, so February is interrupted before it has started and the whole of its 19 remaining días hábiles sit after the break.
The closures around this month
February 2027 carries one Mexican federal closure of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.
Looking outside the month, the last was Año Nuevo on January 1, 2027, 31 calendar days before February began and the next is Natalicio de Benito Juárez on March 15, 2027, 15 calendar days after it ends.
Across the whole of 2027 the Mexican federal calendar puts five closures on working days, of which one falls in February. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.
The month ends over a weekend
February 2027 ends on a Sunday, which this calendar treats as weekend. Month-end processing cannot happen on the last calendar day, so it happens earlier and the last few dates of the month carry no settlement at all. The distance between the final working day and the final calendar day is where month-end reconciliations go missing.
The last working day of February 2027 is Friday, February 26. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, February 24, four calendar days before the month closes.
The working month ends on the last working day of a week, so the final stretch is a complete one and nothing is left hanging mid-week. Two calendar days of February follow it with nothing settling on them.
The middle month of the quarter
February is the middle month of Q1. Middle months carry the least visibility in a quarterly cycle: the opening month sets expectations and the closing month is where they are settled, so a shortfall here is the one most likely to be noticed late.
Across the whole quarter there are 61 días hábiles, of which 19 fall in February. The other two months carry January 2027 with 20 and March 2027 with 22. It is the smallest of the three, so the quarter's capacity sits mostly in the other two months and a plan that spreads work evenly across the quarter will over-commit February.
The week's first working day is the scarcest
The first working day of the week is the one February gives least often. Anything anchored to the start of the working week (a weekly kickoff, a Monday-morning cutoff, a start-of-week batch) fires fewer times this month than the calendar count suggests, because a closure has taken one of them out.
Counted as worked rather than as occurring, February 2027 gives Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 4, Thursday 4, and Friday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.
One of the year's shortest working months
No month of 2027 carries fewer días hábiles than February under the Mexican federal calendar. Two forces set a month's position in that ranking, its length and its closures, and they can either compound or cancel: a long month with several closures and a short month with none can land on the same count.
2027 carries 256 días hábiles in total under the Mexican federal calendar. The longest month of the year is December 2027 with 23 and the shortest is February 2027 with 19, a spread of 4. February ranks 12th of the twelve with 19.
Mexico closures across the year
A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Mexico is placed as follows.
Across 2027 the Mexican federal closures fall 3 in Q1, 0 in Q2, 1 in Q3, and 1 in Q4. A further two holidays land on the sábado and domingo weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.
The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between March 15, 2027 and September 16, 2027, 185 calendar days with no Mexican federal closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.
Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern
Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Mexican federal calendar is no exception.
2027 opens its Mexican federal closures with Año Nuevo on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Día de la Revolución on November 15, 2027. The densest month of the year is January 2027 with one closure on working days.
The same count as last year
February 2027 and February 2026 carry the same number of días hábiles, 19 in each. An unchanged total does not mean an unchanged month: the working days sit on different dates and break into different stretches, so a schedule copied forward date by date will not line up even though the capacity has not moved.
February opens 2026 on a Sunday, 2027 on a Monday, and 2028 on a Tuesday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, February 2028 carries 20 días hábiles.
Anchor dates that do not fall on working days
Three of the common monthly anchor dates in February 2027 land on a day this calendar does not work. A month with this many blocked anchors pushes several cycles onto the same few dates, because each of them resolves forward to the next available working day and those tend to be shared.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the Mexican federal calendar | First working day on or after |
|---|---|---|---|
| February 1 | Monday | Closed: Día de la Constitución | February 2, 2027 |
| February 5 | Friday | Working day | February 5 |
| February 10 | Wednesday | Working day | February 10 |
| February 15 | Monday | Working day | February 15 |
| February 20 | Saturday | Weekend | February 22, 2027 |
| February 25 | Thursday | Working day | February 25 |
| February 28 | Sunday | Weekend | March 1, 2027 |
The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.
Net terms dated in February 2027
An invoice dated the 1st of February on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on March 3, 2027, a working day under the Mexican federal calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.
| Invoice date | Net 30, calendar days | Net 60, calendar days |
|---|---|---|
| Dated February 1 | March 3, 2027 | April 2, 2027 |
| Dated February 15 | March 17, 2027 | April 16, 2027 |
| Dated February 28 | March 30, 2027 | April 29, 2027 |
Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Mexico calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.
