public holidays in February 2027

Singapore February deadlines

CPF contributions for January are due on its last day, with enforcement against an employer that has not paid them by February 14, or the next working day when the 14th is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday. Chinese New Year changes date each year, and the Ministry of Manpower lists its two days for each year. Under the Holidays Act a holiday that falls on a Sunday moves to the next day that is not itself a public holiday. The Ministry lists Chinese New Year on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2027 and makes Monday 8 February a public holiday for employees whose rest day is 7 February; this calculator closes that Monday. February 14 is a Sunday, so the CPF date is Monday 15 February.

Those dates in 2027

None of the dates named above falls on a working day in 2027 under the Singapore calendar. A fixed calendar date advances by one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, so which side of the working week it lands on changes on a four-year cycle rather than staying put.

Singapore reporting cycles and business-day rules

This calculator counts Monday to Friday and leaves out the 11 public holidays the Ministry of Manpower lists. When one falls on a Sunday, section 4(2) of the Holidays Act 1998 makes the next day that is not itself a public holiday a public holiday too, and the calculator leaves that day out as well. A holiday on a Saturday adds no public holiday under the Act, although MOM says an employee whose Saturday is a non-working day should get either a day off or salary in lieu; the calculator adds no day for it. The CPF Board's enforcement date, the 14th of the month after contributions fall due, moves to the next working day when it is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.

February 2027 working days compared by country

Working-day counts vary across countries because each country observes its own public holidays. The table below shows February 2027 under 11 of the site's 25 holiday calendars; the summary above gives Singapore's own count.

How February 2027 compares year over year

February 2026 had 18 working days, so February 2027 has 1 more working day year over year. On the surrounding months, January 2027 has 20 working days and March 2027 has 21. Looking forward, February 2028 has 21 working days under the same Singapore holiday calendar.

Using this calculator in Singapore

Count the 19 business days of February 2027 when a CPF or IRAS date is near. CPF contributions for a month are due on its last day, and the CPF Board takes enforcement action against an employer that has not paid them by the 14th of the following month, or by the next working day when the 14th is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday. A GST return and its payment are due one month after the end of the accounting period, and a company files its estimated chargeable income within three months of its financial year end, unless one of IRAS's exceptions applies.

How February 2027 is shaped

The headline count answers how many working days February 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Singapore holiday calendar and a working week that treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.

The only month whose length changes

February is the shortest month and the only one whose length is not fixed, running 28 days in a common year and 29 in a leap year. A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, which makes it the only month capable of containing precisely four of every weekday. February 2027 runs 28 days, so it has that perfectly regular shape.

In February 2027 that comes to 19 working days across 28 calendar days, against 20 in January 2027 and 21 in March 2027.

A clean start to the working week

February 2027 opens on the first working day of the week. That is the alignment where the month's own numbering and the working week agree: week one of the month is a whole working week that belongs entirely to February, with nothing borrowed from the month before. Of the 5 possible starts this is the only one where "the first week" and "the first 5 working days" describe the same span.

The opening stretch runs from Monday, February 1 to February 5, five working days before the first break. February 2027 carries 19 working days in total, so that opening block is 26% of the month's working capacity.

How the working days break up

The working days of February 2027 fall into four separate stretches. The count of stretches matters more than it looks: a month's total is the sum of its runs, but a deliverable that needs consecutive days is limited by the longest single run, and the two numbers move independently.

The working days of February 2027 arrive in stretches of 5, 4, 5, and 5 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from February 1 to February 5. A task needing more consecutive working days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.

The month is balanced end to end. Its opening and closing stretches are the same length, five days each, so work pushed from the start of February to its end finds the same amount of room it left behind. That symmetry is the exception rather than the rule.

The only perfectly regular month

A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, so every weekday occurs four times and no weekday is over-represented. It is the only month of the year that can be perfectly regular, and it means February's working-day count in a common year depends on nothing but its holidays: the weekday alignment cannot change the answer.

Only Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the Saturday and Sunday weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.

One closure, and where it lands

February 2027 carries a single Singapore closure on a working day: Chinese New Year Day 2 (observed) on Monday, February 8. A holiday's cost to a month is not only the day it removes; it is also where the removal falls, because the same closure can extend an existing break or cut a working stretch in half.

It sits directly beside a weekend rather than inside a working week, so it extends an existing break instead of creating a new one. That is the cheapest position a holiday can occupy: the month loses a day but keeps its shape.

five working days pass before the closure and 14 follow it, which puts the break just short of the month's midpoint. A closure near the middle divides the month into two usable halves rather than trimming one end of it.

The closures around this month

February 2027 carries one Singapore closure of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.

Looking outside the month, the last was New Year's Day on January 1, 2027, 31 calendar days before February began and the next is Hari Raya Puasa on March 10, 2027, 10 calendar days after it ends.

Across the whole of 2027 the Singapore calendar puts eight closures on working days, of which one falls in February. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.

The month ends over a weekend

February 2027 ends on a Sunday, which this calendar treats as weekend. Month-end processing cannot happen on the last calendar day, so it happens earlier and the last few dates of the month carry no settlement at all. The distance between the final working day and the final calendar day is where month-end reconciliations go missing.

The last working day of February 2027 is Friday, February 26. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, February 24, four calendar days before the month closes.

The working month ends on the last working day of a week, so the final stretch is a complete one and nothing is left hanging mid-week. Two calendar days of February follow it with nothing settling on them.

The middle month of the quarter

February is the middle month of Q1. Middle months carry the least visibility in a quarterly cycle: the opening month sets expectations and the closing month is where they are settled, so a shortfall here is the one most likely to be noticed late.

Across the whole quarter there are 60 working days, of which 19 fall in February. The other two months carry January 2027 with 20 and March 2027 with 21. It is the smallest of the three, so the quarter's capacity sits mostly in the other two months and a plan that spreads work evenly across the quarter will over-commit February.

The week's first working day is the scarcest

The first working day of the week is the one February gives least often. Anything anchored to the start of the working week (a weekly kickoff, a Monday-morning cutoff, a start-of-week batch) fires fewer times this month than the calendar count suggests, because a closure has taken one of them out.

Counted as worked rather than as occurring, February 2027 gives Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 4, Thursday 4, and Friday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.

Toward the short end of the year

February sits among the shorter working months of 2027 under the Singapore calendar. A month reaches this end of the ranking either by being short or by absorbing closures, and the two produce the same headline number while behaving differently: a closure fragments the month, a shorter calendar does not.

2027 carries 253 working days in total under the Singapore calendar. The longest month of the year is December 2027 with 23 and the shortest is May 2027 with 19, a spread of 4. February ranks 11th of the twelve with 19.

Singapore closures across the year

A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Singapore is placed as follows.

Across 2027 the Singapore closures fall 4 in Q1, 2 in Q2, 1 in Q3, and 1 in Q4. A further three holidays land on the Saturday and Sunday weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.

The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between May 20, 2027 and August 9, 2027, 81 calendar days with no Singapore closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.

Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern

Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Singapore calendar is no exception.

2027 opens its Singapore closures with New Year's Day on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Deepavali on October 28, 2027. The densest month of the year is March 2027 with two closures on working days.

One working day more than last year

There is one more working day in February 2027 than in February 2026: 19 against 18. A single-day swing is the ordinary case, produced by the calendar shifting forward one weekday between consecutive common years, and it is large enough to matter to a monthly target and small enough to be missed.

February opens 2026 on a Sunday, 2027 on a Monday, and 2028 on a Tuesday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The count of closures on working days differs between the two years as well, so alignment is not the only thing moving. Looking ahead, February 2028 carries 21 working days.

Where the month's anchor dates fall

Two of the common monthly anchor dates in February 2027 land outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the Singapore calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.

DateWeekdayStatus under the Singapore calendarFirst working day on or after
February 1MondayWorking dayFebruary 1
February 5FridayWorking dayFebruary 5
February 10WednesdayWorking dayFebruary 10
February 15MondayWorking dayFebruary 15
February 20SaturdayWeekendFebruary 22, 2027
February 25ThursdayWorking dayFebruary 25
February 28SundayWeekendMarch 1, 2027

The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.

Net terms dated in February 2027

An invoice dated the 1st of February on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on March 3, 2027, a working day under the Singapore calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.

Invoice dateNet 30, calendar daysNet 60, calendar days

Dated February 15March 17, 2027April 16, 2027

Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Singapore calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are in February 2027 under the Singapore holiday calendar?
February 2027 has 19 working days under the Singapore holiday calendar. The month spans 28 calendar days, of which 8 fall on a weekend and 1 is a Singapore holiday that lands on a weekday. The remaining 19 weekdays are countable as working days for invoicing, deadline tracking, and contract math.
Which Singapore holidays affect February 2027?
February 2027 contains one Singapore holiday: Chinese New Year Day 2 (observed) on Monday, February 8. The calculator skips it. Regional or industry-specific closures may add further non-working days for narrower contract definitions; layer them into the calculator's Advanced options if needed.
What happens when a Singapore public holiday falls on a weekend?
Section 4(2) of the Holidays Act 1998: if a day specified in the Schedule falls on a Sunday, the day next following that is not itself a public holiday is declared a public holiday. The Sunday stays a public holiday under section 4(1). This site's data lists the added day in place of the Sunday, which is not a business day either way, and the calculator leaves the added day out. The Act adds nothing for a holiday on a Saturday, though MOM says an employee whose Saturday is a non-working day should get a day off or salary in lieu; the calculator keeps a Saturday holiday on its date. When two public holidays fall on the same day, section 5(2) of the Holidays Act lets the President declare an additional public holiday, on any day of that year, by notification in the Gazette; it is not automatic, and this site's data lists no such day. The Ministry of Manpower lists 11 gazetted public holidays: New Year's Day, Chinese New Year (2 days), Good Friday, Hari Raya Puasa, Labour Day, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Haji, National Day, Deepavali and Christmas Day.
Why does the Chinese New Year date shift each year?
The Schedule to the Holidays Act 1998 names the days, Chinese New Year (2 days) among them, and gives no dates. MOM publishes the dates for public holidays one year in advance, by the third quarter of the year before. In this site's data, Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Hari Raya Puasa, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Haji and Deepavali fall on a different date in every year it covers. For a year MOM has not yet published, the data holds calculated dates for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Haji and Deepavali and marks each one (approximate); where this site has no date for one of those days, the data has no row for it. Check MOM's list once it is out before relying on one of those dates for a deadline.
Why does the business-day count vary year to year?
Two things shift the monthly count for Singapore. First, the day of the week the first of the month lands on changes the count of each weekday. Second, Singapore holidays anchored to a fixed date shift their weekday across years. Some years a fixed-date holiday lands on a weekend; some countries shift the observance to an adjacent weekday and some absorb it into the weekend. February 2026 had 18 working days, so February 2027 has 1 more working day year over year.
When is the last working day of February 2027?
The last working day of February 2027 under the Singapore calendar is Friday, February 26. The month's last calendar day is Sunday, February 28, which is not a working day, so month-end processing has to happen two calendar days earlier than the calendar suggests. Counting back, the third-to-last working day is Wednesday, February 24.
How many working days in a row does February 2027 offer?
February 2027 has 19 working days in total, but they do not run consecutively. They arrive in four stretches of 5, 4, 5, and 5 days, so the longest unbroken run is five days, from February 1 to February 5. No working day in the month is isolated between two closures.
