Hamburg shares the Monday to Friday working week and the Saturday and Sunday weekend with the rest of Germany, but its Feiertage calendar is different, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the count built on the nine nationwide Feiertage.
How Hamburg differs from the nationwide German holidays
Hamburg, Germany's second-largest city and a state in its own right, observes Reformationstag on 31 October as its single statewide Feiertag, in force since 2018. In 2026 the day falls on a Saturday and in 2027 on a Sunday, so in both shipped years Hamburg's working-day count is the same as the nationwide German count; the gap opens only when 31 October is a weekday. Hamburg does not observe Fronleichnam, Allerheiligen, or the southern Catholic holidays. The working week is Monday to Friday with a Saturday and Sunday weekend.
