Calculate business days in Hessen with its own statewide Feiertage. Like the Germany calculator, this page counts Monday to Friday as working days; what changes is the Feiertage list, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the count built on the 9 nationwide Feiertage.
How Hessen differs from the nationwide German holidays
The Hessisches Feiertagsgesetz (§ 1 Abs. 1) lists the gesetzliche Feiertage as the Sundays and nine entries: the nationwide days, with the first and second Weihnachtstag as one entry, and der Fronleichnamstag. This calendar therefore adds one Feiertag to the nationwide German Feiertage for Hesse: Fronleichnam (Corpus Christi), on Thursday 4 June 2026, Thursday 27 May 2027 and Thursday 15 June 2028. Because it falls on a weekday in each of these years, it shortens the Hessian business-day count by one day compared with the nationwide count. Neither Allerheiligen nor Reformationstag is in § 1 Abs. 1.
Worked example
Adding 1 business day to Wednesday, June 3, 2026 using Hessen's Feiertage lands on Friday, June 5, 2026. With the 9 nationwide German Feiertage, the same calculation lands on Thursday, June 4, 2026: the gap comes from Hessen's own calendar.
