Calculate business days in Hessen with its own statewide Feiertage. Hessen shares the Monday to Friday working week and the Saturday and Sunday weekend with the rest of Germany, but its Feiertage calendar is different, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the count built on the nine nationwide Feiertage.

How Hessen differs from the nationwide German holidays

Hesse adds a single statewide Feiertag beyond the nine nationwide German holidays: Fronleichnam (Corpus Christi) on the Thursday 60 days after Easter, which is 4 June in 2026 and 27 May in 2027. Because it always falls on a Thursday, it reliably shortens the Hessian business-day count by one day each year compared with the federal-only count. Hesse does not observe Allerheiligen or Reformationstag statewide. The working week is Monday to Friday with a Saturday and Sunday weekend, so the Feiertag, not the weekend, is what changes the count.
