Sachsen Business Day Calculator

Last reviewed: May 19, 2026 · Holiday data: June 24, 2026

Calculate business days in Sachsen with its own statewide Feiertage. Sachsen shares the Monday to Friday working week and the Saturday and Sunday weekend with the rest of Germany, but its Feiertage calendar is different, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the count built on the nine nationwide Feiertage.

How Sachsen differs from the nationwide German holidays

Saxony adds two statewide Feiertage: Reformationstag on 31 October and Buß- und Bettag (the Day of Repentance and Prayer) on the Wednesday before 23 November, which is 18 November in 2026 and 17 November in 2027. Saxony is the only German state where Buß- und Bettag is still a work-free public holiday, so it reliably shortens the Saxon count by one day each year. Reformationstag falls on a weekend in both shipped years. Fronleichnam is a holiday only in a few designated Sorbian municipalities, not statewide, so it is left out of this count. The working week is Monday to Friday with a Saturday and Sunday weekend.

Worked example

Adding 1 business days to Tuesday, November 17, 2026 using Sachsen's Feiertage lands on Thursday, November 19, 2026. With the nine nationwide German Feiertage, the same calculation lands on Wednesday, November 18, 2026: the gap comes from Sachsen's own calendar.

Is the Sachsen working week Monday to Friday?
Yes. Sachsen uses the Monday to Friday working week with a Saturday and Sunday weekend, the same as the rest of Germany. Only the Bundesland's set of Feiertage changes.
