Calculate business days in British Columbia with its own statutory holidays. Like the Canada calculator, this page counts Monday to Friday as working days; what changes is the holiday list, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the federal count.
How British Columbia differs from the federal Canadian holidays
British Columbia's statutory holidays, as the province lists them, are the federal Canadian set with two additions and one omission. It adds Family Day in February and B.C. Day in August, and Boxing Day is not a statutory holiday in B.C. (nor are Easter Sunday and Easter Monday), so that federal day is dropped from a BC count. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on 30 September and Remembrance Day are on the list. The province gives no substitute weekday when a statutory holiday falls on a weekend: it lists Christmas Day 2027 on Saturday 25 December. Employers and employees may agree in writing to substitute another day, so in this count a Saturday or Sunday holiday stays on its date and closes no weekday.
Worked example
Adding 2 business days to Friday, July 31, 2026 using British Columbia's statutory holidays lands on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. With the federal Canadian holidays, the same calculation lands on Tuesday, August 4, 2026: the gap comes from British Columbia's own calendar.
