How Quebec differs from the federal Canadian holidays
This calendar shows eight statutory holidays for Quebec, the same eight in 2026, 2027 and 2028. In place of Victoria Day, the same Monday is the Journée nationale des patriotes (18 May 2026, 24 May 2027, 22 May 2028), and the Fête nationale on 24 June is added. Good Friday is in the count. The federal National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Remembrance Day and Boxing Day are not in the Quebec rows, so they are dropped from a Quebec count. No substitute weekday appears when a holiday falls on a Saturday: Christmas Day 2027, and New Year's Day, the Fête nationale and Canada Day in 2028, stay on their Saturday dates in this count and close no weekday.
Worked example
Adding 1 business day to Tuesday, June 23, 2026 using Quebec's statutory holidays lands on Thursday, June 25, 2026. With the federal Canadian holidays, the same calculation lands on Wednesday, June 24, 2026: the gap comes from Quebec's own calendar.
