How Saskatchewan differs from the federal Canadian holidays
Saskatchewan has 10 public (statutory) holidays per year, as saskatchewan.ca states, and the rows show ten in each of 2026, 2027 and 2028. To the federal set it adds Family Day on the third Monday of February and Saskatchewan Day on the first Monday of August. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Boxing Day are not in the Saskatchewan rows, so those two federal days are dropped; Victoria Day, Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day are kept. No substitute weekday appears for a public holiday on a Saturday: Christmas Day 2027, and New Year's Day, Canada Day and Remembrance Day in 2028, stay on their Saturday dates and close no weekday.
Worked example
Adding 2 business days to Friday, July 31, 2026 using Saskatchewan's statutory holidays lands on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. With the federal Canadian holidays, the same calculation lands on Tuesday, August 4, 2026: the gap comes from Saskatchewan's own calendar.
