Sachsen-Anhalt Public Holidays 2026

Last reviewed: October 14, 2026 · Holiday data: June 25, 2026

The 2026 table for Sachsen-Anhalt lists 11 dates: 8 fall on a weekday and 3 on a weekend. That leaves 253 working days in 2026. Like the Germany calculator, this page counts Monday to Friday as working days; what changes is the holiday list.

How Sachsen-Anhalt differs from the nationwide German holidays

Saxony-Anhalt's Gesetz über die Sonn- und Feiertage (§ 2) lists the staatlich anerkannte Feiertage: the nationwide days, der Tag Heilige Drei Könige (6. Januar) and der Reformationstag (31. Oktober), so this calendar adds those two. Heilige Drei Könige falls on a weekday in each year (a Tuesday in 2026, a Wednesday in 2027, a Thursday in 2028) and shortens the count. Reformationstag falls on a weekend in 2026 and 2027 and on a Tuesday in 2028, when it closes a further weekday. A § 2a in force since 12 May 2026 names 8 May and 17 June as staatlich anerkannte Gedenktage. They are not counted here: § 3 Abs. 1 names the Sundays and the staatlich anerkannte Feiertage as Tage allgemeiner Arbeitsruhe and does not name the Gedenktage, and the bill that added § 2a says the two days create no work-free holiday.
