The 3 weekend dates in 2024 fall on a Saturday or Sunday, days the count already excludes, so the working-day reduction comes only from the 8 weekday dates. The table starts from article 2 of Law 260 of 27 May 1949, the list of giorni festivi, and adds 2 June, the festa nazionale of article 1. Law 151 of 8 October 2025 put 4 October, San Francesco d'Assisi, on that list from 1 January 2026, so the 2024 and 2025 tables have one date fewer. Article 2 still prints days that Law 54 of 5 March 1977 stripped of civil effect, such as San Giuseppe, the Ascension and Corpus Domini, and they are not in the table. The same 1977 law also took Epiphany and 2 June off; DPR 792 of 28 December 1985 lists 6 January again, and Law 336 of 20 November 2000 restored 2 June from 2001. Every Sunday is a giorno festivo under article 2, so Easter Sunday has no row of its own, and the article contains no rule moving a day that falls on a weekend.

Holidays not included
A town's patron saint day is not in this national table. Law 90 of 31 March 1954 (article 2, letter e) names the celebration of the patron saint of the place where the work is done among the holidays that collective agreements treat as such, so whether it is a day off depends on the contract and the place. One is fixed for a single city by national law: DPR 792 of 28 December 1985 lists 29 June, Saints Peter and Paul, for the comune di Roma. Add the date for the city concerned under Advanced options.
