Holidays in Qatar 2028
Last reviewed: October 14, 2026 · Holiday data: September 8, 2026
The 2028 Qatar holiday table below lists 13 dates, each one a day this calculator treats as closed. 9 fall on a working day of the Sunday-to-Thursday week and 4 land on a weekend, leaving 252 working days across the year on the national-only count. A date is not always a holiday of its own: 8 are numbered days of a holiday that lasts more than one day.

The 4 weekend dates in 2028 fall on a Friday or Saturday, days the count already excludes, so the working-day reduction comes only from the 9 working-day dates. From 2026 the table follows Article 2 of Emiri Decision No. 57 of 2025, which sets the State's official holidays: National Day on 18 December, Sports Day on the second Tuesday of February, Eid al-Fitr from 28 Ramadan to the end of 4 Shawwal and Eid al-Adha from 9 to the end of 13 Dhu al-Hijjah; where a single working day separates two holidays, the Article makes it a holiday as well. The table adds no such day. Article 1 sets the working days at Sunday-Thursday with Friday and Saturday the weekly holiday. The 2024 and 2025 tables predate the decision, which is dated 25 November 2025, and their Eid al-Fitr blocks are longer: nine dates in each, against seven in 2026. The Eid al-Adha block has five dates in every year.

Other sectors keep other lists. Under Article 4 of the decision, the Qatar Central Bank and the financial institutions it supervises, and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and the markets it regulates, take three working days for each Eid, the Central Bank's Governor fixing when the Eid al-Fitr holiday starts, plus 1 January and Bank Day on the first Sunday of March. Private employers follow the Labour Law (Article 6 of the decision): Law No. 14 of 2004 grants three working days for each Eid, one for Independence Day and three days the employer fixes (Article 78). The table follows the State's list, so for a bank or private-sector deadline it can count an Eid working day as closed.
