The 2 weekend dates in 2024 fall on a Friday or Saturday, days the count already excludes, so the working-day reduction comes only from the 8 working-day dates. This table is the private-sector entitlement. Article 112 of the Labour Law gives every worker a fully paid holiday on the occasions the Implementing Regulations set, and Article 24 of the Regulations sets four: Eid al-Fitr for four days from the day after 29 Ramadan in the Umm al-Qura calendar, Eid al-Adha for four days from the Day of Arafat, National Day for one day on the first day of Libra in the Umm al-Qura calendar, and Founding Day for one day on 22 February. This calendar counts Sunday to Thursday and leaves Friday and Saturday out. A royal order of 23 June 2013, as the Saudi Press Agency reported it, made Sunday to Thursday the official working days and Friday and Saturday the weekly holiday in all ministries, government bodies and institutions, financial institutions, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the Capital Market Authority and the Saudi Stock Exchange.

Article 24 also deals with overlaps. Where days of these holidays overlap the weekly rest, Article 24 has the worker compensated with the equivalent before or after those days; it does not say which day. The calculator's data adds no day for an Eid day that falls on a Friday or Saturday: 14 of the 48 Eid holiday days it lists from 2024 to 2029 do, and a count leaves each of them out once, as a weekend day. For the fixed-date days it lists Sunday 23 February 2025 instead of Saturday 22 February 2025 and Sunday 24 September 2028 instead of Saturday 23 September 2028. When National Day or Founding Day falls inside an Eid holiday, Article 24 gives no extra day. Article 104 of the Labour Law makes Friday the weekly rest day for all workers, which an employer may replace with another day for some of them after notifying the labour office, so a private employer's own week can differ from the one counted here.
