25 April is a Saturday in 2026. The Act produces nothing for a Saturday; Monday, April 27 is a public holiday only because notifiable instrument NI2026-154 declared it one in addition, leaving the Saturday a public holiday too.

25 April is a Sunday in 2027. For a Sunday Anzac Day s 3(1)(a)(viii) makes Monday, April 26 the public holiday, and notifiable instrument NI2026-387 declares the Sunday an additional public holiday, so both dates are public holidays.

25 April is a Tuesday in 2028, so Anzac Day is a public holiday on that weekday itself and the Sunday clause of s 3(1)(a)(viii) is not triggered and no declaration is needed.
