The NSW Bank Holiday is the entry that depends on what is being counted: Monday, August 3, 2026, Monday, August 2, 2027, and Monday, August 7, 2028. It is in this count because the count follows the days banks are open; a count of general workplace days ends one working day sooner each time it crosses one.

Anzac Day shows how much the weekend rules matter, year by year:

25 April is a Saturday in 2026. The NSW Government says Anzac Day "is always recognised and observed on the 25 April every year", and its table lists Monday, April 27 as an Additional Day, so both dates are public holidays.

25 April is a Sunday in 2027. The NSW Government says Anzac Day "is always recognised and observed on the 25 April every year", and its table lists Monday, April 26 as an Additional Day, so both dates are public holidays.

25 April is a Tuesday in 2028, so Anzac Day is a public holiday on that weekday itself and no Additional Day is needed.

Every weekday where New South Wales and the national Australian set part company, 2026 to 2028

Each holiday that only New South Wales has on a weekday pushes a New South Wales deadline one working day later; each one that only the national Australian set has pulls it one day earlier.
