Brazil September deadlines
Independência do Brasil on September 7 is a feriado nacional under Lei 662/1949 and not a business day for banks or the STR. Social-security contributions on August's pay are due by September 20, or the business day before when banks are closed (Lei 8.212/1991, art. 30), and the FGTS deposit on August's pay by the 20th (Lei 8.036/1990, art. 15). September 30 closes the third quarter; a calendar-year CVM registrant files that quarter's ITR by November 14, and none is needed for the last quarter of the year (Resolução CVM 80/2022, art. 31, § 3º).

Brazil reporting cycles and business-day rules
Brazilian business days in this calculator follow the financial system rather than the labour calendar, and its thirteen closure days a year are of three kinds. Nine are feriados nacionais by federal statute: seven under article 1 of Lei 662/1949 as amended by Lei 10.607/2002, 12 October under Lei 6.802/1980 and 20 November under Lei 14.759/2023. Good Friday reads two ways: the federal government's annual list prints it as a feriado nacional, while Lei 9.093/1995 counts it among the religious holidays that municipal law declares, and FEBRABAN's bank-holiday calendar lists it. Carnival Monday and Tuesday and Corpus Christi are only ponto facultativo for federal staff, under the annual portaria of the Ministério da Gestão e da Inovação em Serviços Públicos. The calculator counts them because article 6 of Resolução CMN 4.880/2020 takes them, with weekends and national holidays, out of the business days for financial-market operations, and the Banco Central's STR settles only on the days that remain. B3's 2026 trading calendar also has no session on 24 or 31 December, which are business days for the financial system and which this calculator counts as business days. Two payroll deadlines share the 20th of the month after the payroll month: the FGTS deposit under article 15 of Lei 8.036/1990, as amended by Lei 14.438/2022, and the social-security contributions a company withholds and owes under article 30, I, b of Lei 8.212/1991, which fall due on the business day before when there is no banking on the 20th. The 13º salário comes from Lei 4.090/1962, not the CLT, and Lei 4.749/1965 sets its payment by December 20 with a half-salary advance between February and November.

How September 2027 compares year over year
September 2026 also had 21 dias úteis, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year. On the surrounding months, August 2027 has 22 dias úteis and October 2027 has 20. Looking forward, September 2028 has 20 dias úteis under the same Brazilian bank holiday calendar.
Using this calculator in Brazil
A São Paulo treasury team uses the 21-day September 2027 count because the Banco Central do Brasil's STR, which settles transfers in real time and operation by operation, runs only on the days Resolução CMN 4.880/2020 treats as business days for financial-market operations. A Belo Horizonte payroll controller works to the two deadlines that share the 20th of the month after the payroll month, the FGTS deposit under Lei 8.036/1990 and the social-security contributions under Lei 8.212/1991, and knows the social-security payment moves to the business day before when banks are shut on the 20th. The same controller schedules the 13º salário, whose half-salary advance is due between February and November and whose balance is due by December 20 under Lei 4.749/1965.

How September 2027 is shaped
The headline count answers how many dias úteis September 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Brazilian bank holiday calendar and a working week that treats sábado and domingo as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.
The month that closes the third quarter
September runs 30 days and closes Q3, so its last working day is also the quarter's. It shares its weekday alignment with December in every year, which means the September and December calendars are the same shape and differ only in length and in what closes them. That pairing is worth knowing when a plan is copied between the two quarters.
In September 2027 that comes to 21 dias úteis across 30 calendar days, against 22 in August 2027 and 20 in October 2027.
A midweek start
September 2027 begins in the middle of a working week. Two of that week's working days belong to the month before and the rest to this one, so the first row of any weekly report covering September is a partial row. Midweek starts are the ones that most often produce an apparent dip in week-one output: the week is short, not the team.
The opening stretch runs from Wednesday, September 1 to September 3, three dias úteis before the first break. September 2027 carries 21 dias úteis in total, so that opening block is 14% of the month's working capacity.
One working day stands alone
One working day in September 2027 is walled in on both sides. Monday, September 6 sits between the sábado and domingo weekend and Independência do Brasil, with no adjacent working day on either side. That single day still counts toward the month's total, but it cannot carry work that needs a second consecutive day, and anything that slips on it slips across a full closure rather than overnight.
The working days of September 2027 arrive in stretches of 3, 1, 3, 5, 5, and 4 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from September 13 to September 17. A task needing more consecutive dias úteis than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.
The month is back-loaded. It opens with three consecutive days and closes with four, so the room is at the end rather than the start. That is the safer of the two imbalances, because a slip has somewhere to go, but it also makes the opening week a poor sample of the month.
Two weekdays occur five times
Thirty days is four seven-day cycles plus two, so a 30-day month has exactly two weekdays occurring five times and five occurring four times. Here they are Wednesday and Thursday. The pair is always consecutive, because the surplus days are the first two of the month repeated at its end.
All of them are working days here, so the surplus lands entirely on the working week: Wednesday and Thursday each occur 5 times. Had the surplus fallen on the weekend instead, the same month would carry 19 dias úteis rather than 21.
One closure, and where it lands
September 2027 carries a single Brazilian bank closure on a working day: Independência do Brasil on Tuesday, September 7. A holiday's cost to a month is not only the day it removes; it is also where the removal falls, because the same closure can extend an existing break or cut a working stretch in half.
Placed where it is, the closure also strands a working day: the run structure above shows a stretch of exactly one. That is the expensive shape for a single holiday, because it removes a day and devalues another.
four working days pass before the closure and 17 follow it, which puts the break just short of the month's midpoint. A closure near the middle divides the month into two usable halves rather than trimming one end of it.
The closures around this month
September 2027 carries one Brazilian bank closure of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.
Looking outside the month, the last was Corpus Christi on May 27, 2027, 97 calendar days before September began and the next is Nossa Senhora Aparecida on October 12, 2027, 12 calendar days after it ends.
Across the whole of 2027 the Brazilian bank calendar puts ten closures on working days, of which one falls in September. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.
One working day short of the week
September 2027 closes on the fourth working day of its final week, one day short of a full week. The remaining working day of that week belongs to the next month, so the last calendar week of September is split across two reporting periods. Weekly and monthly figures for that week will not agree, and the difference is one working day.
The last working day of September 2027 is Thursday, September 30. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Tuesday, September 28, two calendar days before the month closes.
The quarter closes here
September closes Q3, so the quarter's last working day and this month's last working day are the same date. Everything the quarter has deferred arrives inside these 21 dias úteis, and there is no further month in the period to move it into.
Across the whole quarter there are 65 dias úteis, of which 21 fall in September. The other two months carry July 2027 with 22 and August 2027 with 22. It is the smallest of the three, so the quarter's capacity sits mostly in the other two months and a plan that spreads work evenly across the quarter will over-commit September.
The week's second working day is the scarcest
The second working day of the week is the one September gives least often. Weekly cycles that run one day behind the start of the week, which is where most reporting handovers sit, lose an occurrence relative to the rest.
Counted as worked rather than as occurring, September 2027 gives Monday 4, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 5, Thursday 5, and Friday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.
Where the month sits in the year
September sits in the middle of 2027 by working-day count under the Brazilian bank calendar. The middle of that ranking is where a month's total is least informative on its own, because a mid-ranked month can be a long month carrying closures or a short one carrying none, and the two need different plans.
2027 carries 251 dias úteis in total under the Brazilian bank calendar. The longest month of the year is December 2027 with 23 and the shortest is February 2027 with 18, a spread of 5. September ranks 7th of the twelve with 21.
Brazil closures across the year
A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Brazil is placed as follows.
Across 2027 the Brazilian bank closures fall 4 in Q1, 2 in Q2, 1 in Q3, and 3 in Q4. A further three holidays land on the sábado and domingo weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.
The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between May 27, 2027 and September 7, 2027, 103 calendar days with no Brazilian bank closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.
Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern
Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Brazilian bank calendar is no exception.
2027 opens its Brazilian bank closures with Confraternização Universal on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Proclamação da República on November 15, 2027. The densest month of the year is February 2027 with two closures on working days.
The same count as last year
September 2027 and September 2026 carry the same number of dias úteis, 21 in each. An unchanged total does not mean an unchanged month: the working days sit on different dates and break into different stretches, so a schedule copied forward date by date will not line up even though the capacity has not moved.
September opens 2026 on a Tuesday, 2027 on a Wednesday, and 2028 on a Friday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, September 2028 carries 20 dias úteis.
Where the month's anchor dates fall
Two of the common monthly anchor dates in September 2027 land outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the Brazilian bank calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the Brazilian bank calendar | First working day on or after |
|---|---|---|---|
| September 1 | Wednesday | Working day | September 1 |
| September 5 | Sunday | Weekend | September 6, 2027 |
| September 10 | Friday | Working day | September 10 |
| September 15 | Wednesday | Working day | September 15 |
| September 20 | Monday | Working day | September 20 |
| September 25 | Saturday | Weekend | September 27, 2027 |
| September 30 | Thursday | Working day | September 30 |
The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.
Net terms dated in September 2027
An invoice dated the 1st of September on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on October 1, 2027, a working day under the Brazilian bank calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.
| Invoice date | Net 30, calendar days | Net 60, calendar days |
|---|---|---|
| Dated September 1 | October 1, 2027 | October 31, 2027 (rolls to November 1, 2027) |
| Dated September 15 | October 15, 2027 | November 14, 2027 (rolls to November 16, 2027) |
| Dated September 30 | October 30, 2027 (rolls to November 1, 2027) | November 29, 2027 |
Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Brazil calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.
