How Appenzell Innerrhoden differs from the Switzerland calculator
Appenzell Innerrhoden's law on public rest days (GS 822.200, Art. 2) equates Neujahr, Karfreitag, Ostermontag, Auffahrt, Pfingstmontag, Fronleichnam, Christmas Day and Stephanstag with Sundays, Stephanstag only 'sofern durch dessen Feier nicht drei Ruhetage aufeinander folgen', and makes Maria Himmelfahrt, Allerheiligen and Maria Empfängnis public rest days across the canton. The canton's Feiertage page says those three are working days under the federal Labour Act but rest days under cantonal law; this page counts them. The Standeskommission's 2015 report reads the Stephanstag proviso as dropping 26 December when it falls on a Saturday or a Tuesday, so the rows drop it in 2026 (a Saturday) and 2028 (a Tuesday) and keep it in 2027. The St. Mauritiustag is a rest day only in the inner part of the canton, so it is not counted.
