Basel-Landschaft Business Day Calculator

Last reviewed: May 19, 2026 · Holiday data: June 24, 2026

Calculate business days in Basel-Landschaft with its own cantonal public holidays. Basel-Landschaft shares the Monday to Friday working week and the Saturday and Sunday weekend with the rest of Switzerland, but its holiday calendar is different, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the national count.

How Basel-Landschaft differs from the national Swiss holidays

Basel-Landschaft adds one statutory cantonal day to the national Swiss set: Tag der Arbeit (Labour Day) on 1 May, equal to a Sunday across the canton. The Catholic feasts kept in a few communes, such as Fronleichnam and Mariä Himmelfahrt, are not canton-wide and are not counted, and the Fasnacht afternoons observed in the lower part of the canton are likewise local. All of those are explained here. Stephanstag and the Easter and Whit Mondays are kept, and the weekend is Saturday and Sunday.

Worked example

Adding 1 business days to Thursday, April 30, 2026 using Basel-Landschaft's holidays lands on Monday, May 4, 2026. With the national Swiss holidays, the same calculation lands on Friday, May 1, 2026: the gap comes from Basel-Landschaft's own calendar.
