How Glarus differs from the Switzerland calculator
Glarus's law on public rest days (GS IX B/21/1, Art. 2) lists Neujahr, the Fahrtsfest (Näfelser Fahrt), Ostermontag, Auffahrt, Pfingstmontag, 1 August, Allerheiligen and Stephanstag, with Karfreitag and Weihnachten as high feast days. Against this site's eight-day Swiss baseline that adds the Näfelser Fahrt and Allerheiligen and drops nothing. The law gives no date for the Fahrt: the canton's labour inspectorate list for 2026 puts it on Thursday 9 April 2026. The 2027 and 2028 rows carry the first Thursday of April (1 April 2027, 6 April 2028), marked unconfirmed until the canton publishes those years' lists; any April Thursday is a weekday, so the count does not depend on which one it is. Allerheiligen falls on a Sunday in 2026, so it closes a weekday only in 2027 (Monday) and 2028 (Wednesday).
Worked example
Adding 1 business day to Wednesday, April 8, 2026 using Glarus's holidays lands on Friday, April 10, 2026. With the Switzerland calculator's holidays, the same calculation lands on Thursday, April 9, 2026: the gap comes from Glarus's own calendar.
