Glarus Business Day Calculator

Last reviewed: May 19, 2026 · Holiday data: June 24, 2026

Calculate business days in Glarus with its own cantonal public holidays. Glarus shares the Monday to Friday working week and the Saturday and Sunday weekend with the rest of Switzerland, but its holiday calendar is different, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the national count.

How Glarus differs from the national Swiss holidays

Glarus adds two canton-wide days that no other canton shares in the same form: the Näfelser Fahrt, a procession held on the first Thursday in April to commemorate the 1388 battle, and Allerheiligen on 1 November. The Näfelser Fahrt falls on 2 April in 2026 and 1 April in 2027, both Thursdays, so it shifts a due date in each year. Berchtoldstag (2 January) is generally quiet but is not a recognised cantonal holiday, so it is not counted. The Easter and Whit Mondays and Stephanstag are kept, and the weekend is Saturday and Sunday.

Worked example

Adding 1 business days to Wednesday, April 1, 2026 using Glarus's holidays lands on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. With the national Swiss holidays, the same calculation lands on Thursday, April 2, 2026: the gap comes from Glarus's own calendar.
