How Nidwalden differs from the Switzerland calculator
Nidwalden's law on public rest days (NG 921.1, Art. 2) lists as holidays Neujahr, the Josefstag (19 March), Auffahrt, Fronleichnam, the Bundesfeiertag, Maria Himmelfahrt (15 August), Allerheiligen (1 November) and Maria Empfängnis (8 December), and Karfreitag and the Weihnachtstag among its high feast days. Easter Monday, Whit Monday and 26 December are not in the law, so this page counts them as working days. Against this site's eight-day Swiss baseline that adds five days and drops three. Holidays a commune sets by its own regulation are not counted.
Worked example
Adding 1 business day to Wednesday, March 18, 2026 using Nidwalden's holidays lands on Friday, March 20, 2026. With the Switzerland calculator's holidays, the same calculation lands on Thursday, March 19, 2026: the gap comes from Nidwalden's own calendar.

How to count Nidwalden business days

The Advanced options can add dates but not remove them, so a count that crosses Ostermontag (Easter Monday) (Monday, April 6, 2026) and Pfingstmontag (Whit Monday) (Monday, May 25, 2026), days in the Switzerland calculator's set but not in Nidwalden's calendar, will land one working day later than Nidwalden's own for each of those dates it crosses.
