How Solothurn differs from the Switzerland calculator
Solothurn's law on public rest days (BGS 512.41, § 2) lists Neujahr, Auffahrt, 1 May from 12.00 and, everywhere except the Bezirk Bucheggberg, Fronleichnam, Maria Himmelfahrt and Allerheiligen, with Karfreitag and Weihnachten among its high feast days; the economic and labour law (BGS 940.11, § 46) equates the same days with Sundays. Neither lists 2 January, Easter Monday, Whit Monday or 26 December. This page counts the days that apply in the whole canton for the whole day, so against this site's eight-day Swiss baseline it drops Easter Monday, Whit Monday and 26 December and adds nothing. Fronleichnam, 15 August and 1 November apply in every district except Bucheggberg, and 1 May is a holiday only from noon, so none of them is counted.
Worked example
Adding 1 business day to Thursday, April 2, 2026 using Solothurn's holidays lands on Monday, April 6, 2026. With the Switzerland calculator's holidays, the same calculation lands on Tuesday, April 7, 2026: the gap comes from Solothurn's own calendar.

The Advanced options can add dates but not remove them, so a count that crosses Ostermontag (Easter Monday) (Monday, April 6, 2026) and Pfingstmontag (Whit Monday) (Monday, May 25, 2026), days in the Switzerland calculator's set but not in Solothurn's calendar, will land one working day later than Solothurn's own for each of those dates it crosses.
