How Thurgau differs from the Switzerland calculator
This page counts the eight days of this site's Swiss baseline and adds two Thurgau days: Berchtoldstag on 2 January and Tag der Arbeit (Labour Day) on 1 May. No baseline day is dropped. Berchtoldstag falls on a Friday in 2026, a Saturday in 2027 and a Sunday in 2028; 1 May falls on a Friday in 2026, a Saturday in 2027 and a Monday in 2028. Both close a weekday in 2026, neither does in 2027, and only 1 May does in 2028.
Worked example
Adding 1 business day to Wednesday, December 31, 2025 using Thurgau's holidays lands on Monday, January 5, 2026. With the Switzerland calculator's holidays, the same calculation lands on Friday, January 2, 2026: the gap comes from Thurgau's own calendar.
