Valais Business Day Calculator

Last reviewed: October 14, 2026 · Holiday data: October 8, 2026

Calculate business days in Valais with its own cantonal public holidays. Like the Switzerland calculator, this page counts Monday to Friday as working days; what changes is the holiday list, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the Switzerland calculator's count.

How Valais differs from the Switzerland calculator

Valais sets its holidays in its cantonal ordinance on work (OcTr, 822.100, art. 7): Nouvel-An, Saint-Joseph (19 March), Ascension, Fête-Dieu, Assomption (15 August), Toussaint (1 November), Immaculée Conception (8 December) and Noël, which with 1 August makes nine days. Against this site's eight-day Swiss baseline the rows drop Vendredi saint (Good Friday), Lundi de Pâques (Easter Monday), Lundi de Pentecôte (Whit Monday) and Saint-Étienne (26 December), which are working days in this count, and add Saint-Joseph, Fête-Dieu (4 June 2026, 27 May 2027 and 15 June 2028), Assomption, Toussaint and Immaculée Conception.

Worked example

Adding 1 business day to Thursday, April 2, 2026 using Valais's holidays lands on Friday, April 3, 2026. With the Switzerland calculator's holidays, the same calculation lands on Tuesday, April 7, 2026: the gap comes from Valais's own calendar.

How to count Valais business days

For an interactive calculation, use the Switzerland calculator and add Valais's own dates under Advanced options, one per line in YYYY-MM-DD form; the Valais public holidays 2026 page linked below lists the dates. The Advanced options can add dates but not remove them, so a count that crosses Karfreitag (Good Friday) (Friday, April 3, 2026), Ostermontag (Easter Monday) (Monday, April 6, 2026), and Pfingstmontag (Whit Monday) (Monday, May 25, 2026), days in the Switzerland calculator's set but not in Valais's calendar, will land one working day later than Valais's own for each of those dates it crosses.

Valais public holiday data is verified against the Valais Ordonnance cantonale sur le travail (822.100), art. 7, lex.vs.ch.
