Vaud Business Day Calculator

Last reviewed: May 19, 2026 · Holiday data: June 24, 2026

Calculate business days in Vaud with its own cantonal public holidays. Vaud shares the Monday to Friday working week and the Saturday and Sunday weekend with the rest of Switzerland, but its holiday calendar is different, so due dates and deadlines can land differently from the national count.

How Vaud differs from the national Swiss holidays

Vaud runs the national Swiss public holidays and adds two of its own across the canton: the Lendemain du Nouvel An on 2 January and the Lundi du Jeûne fédéral, the Monday after the third Sunday of September; Vaud is the only canton that makes the Lundi du Jeûne fédéral a statutory holiday. It does not observe Saint-Étienne (26 December): the cantonal statute lists only Noël on 25 December, and 26 December is an internal day for the cantonal administration. Easter Monday and Whit Monday are kept. So a Vaud count adds the January and September closures and drops 26 December.

Worked example

Adding 1 business days to Friday, September 18, 2026 using Vaud's holidays lands on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. With the national Swiss holidays, the same calculation lands on Monday, September 21, 2026: the gap comes from Vaud's own calendar.
