How Western Australia differs from the national Australian holidays
Western Australia keeps the national framework but moves and adds days. It takes Labour Day on the first Monday of March and Western Australia Day on the first Monday of June, and its King's Birthday falls in late September (28 September 2026, 27 September 2027) instead of the national June date, so the June holiday is dropped. When New Year's Day, Anzac Day or Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is also a public holiday, and Boxing Day gains the following Monday or Tuesday on the same terms. So 25 April stays a public holiday in 2026 and 2027, with Monday 27 April 2026 and Monday 26 April 2027 added. A weekend Australia Day moves to the following Monday. Easter Sunday is a public holiday under the Second Schedule to the Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972 (Sunday 5 April 2026 and Sunday 28 March 2027 in the state's table), and as a Sunday it changes no working-day count. Western Australia has no Easter Saturday holiday. The state says its 2028 dates 'will be published when confirmed', so this calendar covers 2026 and 2027 only.

25 April is a Saturday in 2026. The Second Schedule makes the next Monday "also a public holiday" when Anzac Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, so Monday, April 27 is added and the Saturday stays a public holiday.
The Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972 adds a weekday for a weekend year-end holiday rather than replacing the weekend date. The rule is stated in the same Second Schedule words, 'is also a public holiday'. Boxing Day falls on a Saturday and stays a public holiday, with Monday, December 28 added.
The Government of Western Australia lists the King's Birthday on Monday, September 28 in 2026. Under the Second Schedule the day is "appointed for each year by proclamation published in the Government Gazette at least 3 weeks before the day so appointed"; this site's national set has Monday, June 8.
