días de descanso obligatorio in July 2027

No Mexican federal holidays fall on a weekday in July 2027, so the month loses no working day to a holiday on this calendar.

Mexico July deadlines

June activity reports to the SAT by July 17, alongside IMSS cuotas and INFONAVIT aportaciones for the May-June bimester. The corporate Declaración Anual for calendar-year entities closed at the end of March, so July carries follow-up filings rather than a headline deadline. Vacation cover matters more than the calendar here: with no mandatory holiday between May 1 and September 16, July and August are the longest stretch of uninterrupted business days in the Mexican year, and staffing rather than statute is what moves work.

Those dates in 2027

None of the dates named above falls on a working day in 2027 under the Mexican federal calendar. A fixed calendar date advances by one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, so which side of the working week it lands on changes on a four-year cycle rather than staying put.

Mexico reporting cycles and business-day rules

Whoever pays salaries must withhold ISR and remit it monthly under Article 96 of the Ley del Impuesto sobre la Renta, and Article 6, fracción I, of the Código Fiscal de la Federación sets the 17th of the following calendar month for withheld contributions where no provision gives another date. IMSS cuotas obrero patronales are to be paid by the 17th of the following month under Article 39 of the Ley del Seguro Social. Two contributions share that day but not that frequency: INFONAVIT aportaciones, whose periodicity the sixth transitional article of the 1997 reform keeps bimonthly until the Ley del ISSSTE sets monthly payment, and the IMSS retiro, cesantía en edad avanzada y vejez cuotas, which the Ley del Seguro Social's own vigésimo séptimo transitorio keeps bimonthly until the payment periods of the ISSSTE and INFONAVIT laws are aligned. Both fall due by the 17th of January, March, May, July, September and November. Article 21 of the Ley del ISSSTE still sets its own retirement and housing payments by two-month periods, due by the 17th of the same six months. A tax period whose last day is a día inhábil runs to the next día hábil under Article 12 of the Código Fiscal de la Federación, whose list of días inhábiles is not Article 74's. For a filer who qualifies, the 17th is where the count starts rather than where it ends: article 5.1 of the decree published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on 26 December 2013 allows provisional or definitive federal returns that are due by the 17th of the following month to be filed one to five días hábiles later, set by the sixth numeric digit of the RFC. In the text published that day, the same article excludes taxpayers who opt to have their financial statements audited (dictaminados) and those of Article 32-H of the Código, the taxpayers it names by reference to Article 20, part B, of the Reglamento Interior del Servicio de Administración Tributaria, the Federation and the states, their decentralised bodies and majority state-owned companies (with the states' parastatal funds and trusts), political parties and associations, and integrated and integrating companies. Article 74 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo lists the días de descanso obligatorio in nine fracciones, three of which a reform published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on 17 January 2006 set on Mondays: the first Monday of February, the third Monday of March and the third Monday of November. Banks follow a separate list. In the Diario Oficial de la Federación of 10 December 2025 the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores published the days of 2026 on which the financial entities it supervises must close their doors and suspend operations. Besides Saturdays, Sundays and the Article 74 dates, that list has four dates Article 74 does not: 2 and 3 April (Maundy Thursday and Good Friday), 2 November and 12 December. This calculator uses the Article 74 set.

How July 2027 compares year over year

July 2026 had 23 días hábiles, so July 2027 has 1 fewer working day year over year. On the surrounding months, June 2027 has 22 días hábiles and August 2027 has 22. Looking forward, July 2028 has 21 días hábiles under the same Mexican federal holiday calendar.

Using this calculator in Mexico

The 22-day count for July 2027 is this calculator's count of días hábiles: Monday to Friday less the días de descanso obligatorio in Article 74 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo. That is this tool's rule, not a general legal definition: Article 74 lists days of mandatory rest and does not define a día hábil. Use the count to plan the work that has to fit before the 17th, the day several monthly obligations share: ISR withheld from salaries, which Article 96 of the Ley del Impuesto sobre la Renta has the payer remit monthly and Article 6, fracción I, of the Código Fiscal de la Federación dates to the 17th of the following calendar month where no provision gives another date, and IMSS cuotas obrero patronales under Article 39 of the Ley del Seguro Social. INFONAVIT aportaciones, whose periodicity the sixth transitional article of the 1997 reform keeps bimonthly until the Ley del ISSSTE sets monthly payment, fall due by the 17th of January, March, May, July, September and November. Banks follow a separate list, which this calculator does not apply: the one the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores published for 2026 has four dates Article 74 does not.

How July 2027 is shaped

The headline count answers how many días hábiles July 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Mexican federal holiday calendar and a working week that treats sábado and domingo as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.

A 31-day month opening the second half of the year

July runs 31 days and opens both Q3 and the second half of the calendar year. It shares its weekday alignment with April, so their internal structures match and any gap between their working-day counts is a holiday effect rather than a calendar one. Of the four quarter-opening months, July is the one most likely to sit inside a period of reduced staffing, which changes what its count means in practice even though the count itself is fixed by the calendar.

In July 2027 that comes to 22 días hábiles across 31 calendar days, against 22 in June 2027 and 22 in August 2027.

A late-week start

The month opens on the fourth working day of the week, which leaves only a short tail before the first weekend. The practical consequence is that the month's first genuinely full working week does not begin on the 1st at all. Anything scoped as "we have the first week to do this" has materially less time than the phrase suggests, and the shortfall is visible in the opening run below.

The opening stretch runs from Thursday, July 1 to July 2, two días hábiles before the first break. July 2027 carries 22 días hábiles in total, so that opening block is 9% of the month's working capacity.

Five working stretches

July splits into five working stretches. That is the ordinary shape of a month whose only interruptions are its weekends, and it means the month's internal boundaries are all predictable a year in advance: nothing here depends on a holiday date moving.

The working days of July 2027 arrive in stretches of 2, 5, 5, 5, and 5 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from July 5 to July 9. A task needing more consecutive días hábiles than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.

The month is back-loaded. It opens with two consecutive days and closes with five, so the room is at the end rather than the start. That is the safer of the two imbalances, because a slip has somewhere to go, but it also makes the opening week a poor sample of the month.

Three weekdays occur five times

A 31-day month contains four full seven-day cycles and three days over, so exactly three weekdays occur five times and the other four occur four times. In July 2027 the three are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Which three it is follows entirely from the weekday the month opens on, which is why the working-day count of a 31-day month moves year to year even when its holidays do not.

Only Thursday and Friday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the sábado and domingo weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.

A month with no closures, and a long one

July 2027 contains no Mexican federal holiday on any date, working or otherwise. A month with no closure loses working days only to weekends, so its count is set entirely by the weekday it opens on and its length, and here both work in the month's favour: 22 días hábiles across 31 calendar days.

Months at this end of the range are the ones worth reserving for work that needs consecutive days rather than cumulative days. The constraint that usually breaks a long run, a closure landing mid-week, is absent, so the month's structure is entirely weekend-driven and repeats on a seven-day cycle.

A long stretch with no closure at all

July 2027 sits inside an unusually long run without a Mexican federal closure. Neither the month itself nor either edge of it carries one within a month, which means the working-day count here is set by the weekend pattern alone and will repeat exactly in any year with the same alignment.

Looking outside the month, the last was Natalicio de Benito Juárez on March 15, 2027, 108 calendar days before July began and the next is Día de la Independencia on September 16, 2027, 47 calendar days after it ends.

Across the whole of 2027 the Mexican federal calendar puts five closures on working days, of which none falls in July. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.

The month ends over a weekend

July 2027 ends on a Saturday, which this calendar treats as weekend. Month-end processing cannot happen on the last calendar day, so it happens earlier and the last few dates of the month carry no settlement at all. The distance between the final working day and the final calendar day is where month-end reconciliations go missing.

The last working day of July 2027 is Friday, July 30. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, July 28, three calendar days before the month closes.

The working month ends on the last working day of a week, so the final stretch is a complete one and nothing is left hanging mid-week. One calendar day of July follows it with nothing settling on it.

The quarter opens here

July is the first month of Q3. An opening month sets the baseline the rest of the quarter is measured against, and it is the one month where a slip has two further months to be absorbed in. Quarterly targets divided evenly by three ignore the fact that the three months rarely carry equal working-day counts.

Across the whole quarter there are 65 días hábiles, of which 22 fall in July. The other two months carry August 2027 with 22 and September 2027 with 21. It is the largest of the three, so work deferred out of July lands in a month with less room than this one had.

The week's first working day is the scarcest

The first working day of the week is the one July gives least often. Anything anchored to the start of the working week (a weekly kickoff, a Monday-morning cutoff, a start-of-week batch) fires fewer times this month than the calendar count suggests, because a closure has taken one of them out.

Counted as worked rather than as occurring, July 2027 gives Monday 4, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 4, Thursday 5, and Friday 5. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.

Where the month sits in the year

July sits in the middle of 2027 by working-day count under the Mexican federal calendar. The middle of that ranking is where a month's total is least informative on its own, because a mid-ranked month can be a long month carrying closures or a short one carrying none, and the two need different plans.

2027 carries 256 días hábiles in total under the Mexican federal calendar. The longest month of the year is December 2027 with 23 and the shortest is February 2027 with 19, a spread of 4. July ranks 5th of the twelve with 22.

Inside the year's longest clear run

July 2027 sits inside the longest stretch of 2027 with no Mexican federal closure in it. Where a month falls relative to its country's closure clusters changes what the same working-day count is worth: an uninterrupted month inside a long clear run behaves differently from one of equal length wedged between two closures.

Across 2027 the Mexican federal closures fall 3 in Q1, 0 in Q2, 1 in Q3, and 1 in Q4. A further two holidays land on the sábado and domingo weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.

The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between March 15, 2027 and September 16, 2027, 185 calendar days with no Mexican federal closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.

Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern

Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Mexican federal calendar is no exception.

2027 opens its Mexican federal closures with Año Nuevo on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Día de la Revolución on November 15, 2027. The densest month of the year is January 2027 with one closure on working days.

One working day fewer than last year

July 2027 has one días hábile fewer than July 2026: 22 against 23. On a monthly target that is roughly 4% less working time for the same calendar period, which is the size of gap that shows up as an unexplained miss rather than as a known constraint.

July opens 2026 on a Wednesday, 2027 on a Thursday, and 2028 on a Saturday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, July 2028 carries 21 días hábiles.

Anchor dates that do not fall on working days

Three of the common monthly anchor dates in July 2027 land on a day this calendar does not work. A month with this many blocked anchors pushes several cycles onto the same few dates, because each of them resolves forward to the next available working day and those tend to be shared.

The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.

Net terms dated in July 2027

An invoice dated the 1st of July on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on July 31, 2027, which is not a working day under the Mexican federal calendar. A term counted in calendar days can land anywhere in the week, and roughly two days in seven it lands somewhere nothing settles, which is the ordinary reason a payment shows as late by a day or two without anyone being late.

Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Mexico calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are in July 2027 under the Mexican federal holiday calendar?
July 2027 has 22 días hábiles under the Mexican federal holiday calendar. The month spans 31 calendar days, of which 9 fall on a weekend and 0 are Mexican federal holidays that land on a weekday. The remaining 22 weekdays are countable as días hábiles for invoicing, deadline tracking, and contract math.
Which Mexico holidays affect July 2027?
July 2027 contains no Mexican federal holidays that fall on a weekday, so on this calculator's holiday set the month loses no working day.
Why are some Mexican holidays observed on Mondays and others on fixed dates?
A decree published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on January 17, 2006 rewrote Article 74 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo so that three holidays follow a weekday rule instead of a date. Fracción II makes Día de la Constitución the first Monday of February "en conmemoración del 5 de febrero", so it can fall anywhere from the 1st to the 7th. Fracción III makes Natalicio de Benito Juárez the third Monday of March in commemoration of March 21, which places it between the 15th and the 21st. Fracción VI does the same for Día de la Revolución in November, again the 15th to the 21st. Año Nuevo (January 1), Día del Trabajo (May 1), Día de la Independencia (September 16) and Navidad (December 25) keep their dates whatever the weekday: Article 74 provides no move for them.
How is presidential transmission day handled here?
Fracción VII of Article 74 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo makes October 1 a día de descanso obligatorio every six years, when it corresponds to the transmission of federal executive power. A reform published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on September 30, 2024 moved it there from December 1. It applied in 2024 and next applies in 2030. The holiday data this calculator uses lists October 1 only in a year in which the fracción applies.
Why does the business-day count vary year to year?
Two things shift the monthly count for Mexico. First, the day of the week the first of the month lands on changes the count of each weekday. Second, Mexican federal holidays anchored to a fixed date shift their weekday across years. Some years a fixed-date holiday lands on a weekend; some countries shift the observance to an adjacent weekday and some absorb it into the weekend. July 2026 had 23 días hábiles, so July 2027 has 1 fewer working day year over year.
When is the last working day of July 2027?
The last working day of July 2027 under the Mexican federal calendar is Friday, July 30. The month's last calendar day is Saturday, July 31, which is not a working day, so month-end processing has to happen one calendar day earlier than the calendar suggests. Counting back, the third-to-last working day is Wednesday, July 28.
How many working days in a row does July 2027 offer?
July 2027 has 22 días hábiles in total, but they do not run consecutively. They arrive in five stretches of 2, 5, 5, 5, and 5 days, so the longest unbroken run is five days, from July 5 to July 9. No working day in the month is isolated between two closures.
