Central Government holidays in July 2027
No Indian Central Government holidays fall on a weekday in July 2027, so the month loses no working day to a holiday on this calendar.
India July deadlines
A monthly GST taxpayer files GSTR-3B for June by July 20, and a quarterly-scheme taxpayer files the April to June return by July 22 or July 24, depending on its state or union territory. An employer remits provident fund contributions for June within fifteen days of the close of the month, by July 15, under paragraph 28 of the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 2026. No holiday in this calculator's Central Government data falls in July 2027, so the month's count loses only weekends. July 20 is a Tuesday.

India reporting cycles and business-day rules
This calculator counts Monday to Friday and leaves out the 14 holidays that the Department of Personnel and Training's Office Memorandum on the 2027 holidays (F.No.12/2/2023-JCA, dated 16 July 2026) lists as compulsory for Central Government administrative offices, plus Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti. Paragraph 3.2 of that memorandum allows no substitute holiday when a festival holiday falls on a weekly off or another non-working day, or when more than one festival falls on the same day, and the calculator adds none. Under rule 61 of the CGST Rules, 2017 a monthly GSTR-3B is due on or before the 20th of the following month, and a quarterly one on or before the 22nd or the 24th of the month after the quarter, depending on the state or union territory of the principal place of business. Section 408(1) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 has advance tax paid in four instalments, due on or before 15 June, 15 September, 15 December and 15 March. These pages give those dates as the rule and the section state them and adjust none for a Sunday or a holiday.

How July 2027 compares year over year
July 2026 had 23 working days, so July 2027 has 1 fewer working day year over year. On the surrounding months, June 2027 has 21 working days and August 2027 has 22. Looking forward, July 2028 has 21 working days under the same Indian Central Government holiday calendar.
Using this calculator in India
The 22 working days in July 2027 are the month's Monday-to-Friday days less the dates in this calculator's data: the 14 holidays that are compulsory for Central Government administrative offices and Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti. For a project or contract timeline with a Central Government office, add the three further days that apply to that office under Advanced options. Bank holidays are not this list: the Reserve Bank of India's holiday page marks each holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act separately for each of its regional offices, so for a count that follows a bank, read that office's list.

How July 2027 is shaped
The headline count answers how many working days July 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Indian Central Government holiday calendar and a working week that treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.
A 31-day month opening the second half of the year
July runs 31 days and opens both Q3 and the second half of the calendar year. It shares its weekday alignment with April, so their internal structures match and any gap between their working-day counts is a holiday effect rather than a calendar one. Of the four quarter-opening months, July is the one most likely to sit inside a period of reduced staffing, which changes what its count means in practice even though the count itself is fixed by the calendar.
In July 2027 that comes to 22 working days across 31 calendar days, against 21 in June 2027 and 22 in August 2027.
A late-week start
The month opens on the fourth working day of the week, which leaves only a short tail before the first weekend. The practical consequence is that the month's first genuinely full working week does not begin on the 1st at all. Anything scoped as "we have the first week to do this" has materially less time than the phrase suggests, and the shortfall is visible in the opening run below.
The opening stretch runs from Thursday, July 1 to July 2, two working days before the first break. July 2027 carries 22 working days in total, so that opening block is 9% of the month's working capacity.
Five working stretches
July splits into five working stretches. That is the ordinary shape of a month whose only interruptions are its weekends, and it means the month's internal boundaries are all predictable a year in advance: nothing here depends on a holiday date moving.
The working days of July 2027 arrive in stretches of 2, 5, 5, 5, and 5 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from July 5 to July 9. A task needing more consecutive working days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.
The month is back-loaded. It opens with two consecutive days and closes with five, so the room is at the end rather than the start. That is the safer of the two imbalances, because a slip has somewhere to go, but it also makes the opening week a poor sample of the month.
Three weekdays occur five times
A 31-day month contains four full seven-day cycles and three days over, so exactly three weekdays occur five times and the other four occur four times. In July 2027 the three are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Which three it is follows entirely from the weekday the month opens on, which is why the working-day count of a 31-day month moves year to year even when its holidays do not.
Only Thursday and Friday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the Saturday and Sunday weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.
A month with no closures, and a long one
July 2027 contains no Indian Central Government holiday on any date, working or otherwise. A month with no closure loses working days only to weekends, so its count is set entirely by the weekday it opens on and its length, and here both work in the month's favour: 22 working days across 31 calendar days.
Months at this end of the range are the ones worth reserving for work that needs consecutive days rather than cumulative days. The constraint that usually breaks a long run, a closure landing mid-week, is absent, so the month's structure is entirely weekend-driven and repeats on a seven-day cycle.
The closures on either side of the month
Nothing closes inside July 2027 under the Indian Central Government calendar, so the useful question is what sits on either side of it. Adjacent closures matter to a monthly plan because deadlines that fall near a month boundary are usually satisfied on the other side of it.
Looking outside the month, the last was Muharram on June 16, 2027, 15 calendar days before July began and the next is Diwali on October 29, 2027, 90 calendar days after it ends.
Across the whole of 2027 the Indian Central Government calendar puts nine closures on working days, of which none falls in July. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.
The month ends over a weekend
July 2027 ends on a Saturday, which this calendar treats as weekend. Month-end processing cannot happen on the last calendar day, so it happens earlier and the last few dates of the month carry no settlement at all. The distance between the final working day and the final calendar day is where month-end reconciliations go missing.
The last working day of July 2027 is Friday, July 30. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, July 28, three calendar days before the month closes.
The working month ends on the last working day of a week, so the final stretch is a complete one and nothing is left hanging mid-week. One calendar day of July follows it with nothing settling on it.
The quarter opens here
July is the first month of Q3. An opening month sets the baseline the rest of the quarter is measured against, and it is the one month where a slip has two further months to be absorbed in. Quarterly targets divided evenly by three ignore the fact that the three months rarely carry equal working-day counts.
Across the whole quarter there are 66 working days, of which 22 fall in July. The other two months carry August 2027 with 22 and September 2027 with 22. All three months of the quarter carry the same working-day count, which happens when their weekday alignments and closures cancel out exactly.
The week's first working day is the scarcest
The first working day of the week is the one July gives least often. Anything anchored to the start of the working week (a weekly kickoff, a Monday-morning cutoff, a start-of-week batch) fires fewer times this month than the calendar count suggests, because a closure has taken one of them out.
Counted as worked rather than as occurring, July 2027 gives Monday 4, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 4, Thursday 5, and Friday 5. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.
Toward the long end of the year
July sits among the longer working months of 2027 under the Indian Central Government calendar. Where a month falls in that ranking is decided by two independent things, its calendar length and how many closures land on its working days, so a month can move several places between adjacent years without its length changing at all.
2027 carries 252 working days in total under the Indian Central Government calendar. The longest month of the year is December 2027 with 23 and the shortest is May 2027 with 19, a spread of 4. July ranks 2nd of the twelve with 22.
Inside the year's longest clear run
July 2027 sits inside the longest stretch of 2027 with no Indian Central Government closure in it. Where a month falls relative to its country's closure clusters changes what the same working-day count is worth: an uninterrupted month inside a long clear run behaves differently from one of equal length wedged between two closures.
Across 2027 the Indian Central Government closures fall 3 in Q1, 5 in Q2, 0 in Q3, and 1 in Q4. A further five holidays land on the Saturday and Sunday weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.
The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between June 16, 2027 and October 29, 2027, 135 calendar days with no Indian Central Government closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.
Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern
Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Indian Central Government calendar is no exception.
2027 opens its Indian Central Government closures with Republic Day on January 26, 2027 and ends them with Diwali on October 29, 2027. The densest month of the year is March 2027 with two closures on working days.
One working day fewer than last year
July 2027 has one working day fewer than July 2026: 22 against 23. On a monthly target that is roughly 4% less working time for the same calendar period, which is the size of gap that shows up as an unexplained miss rather than as a known constraint.
July opens 2026 on a Wednesday, 2027 on a Thursday, and 2028 on a Saturday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, July 2028 carries 21 working days.
Anchor dates that do not fall on working days
Three of the common monthly anchor dates in July 2027 land on a day this calendar does not work. A month with this many blocked anchors pushes several cycles onto the same few dates, because each of them resolves forward to the next available working day and those tend to be shared.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the Indian Central Government calendar | First working day on or after |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 1 | Thursday | Working day | July 1 |
| July 5 | Monday | Working day | July 5 |
| July 10 | Saturday | Weekend | July 12, 2027 |
| July 15 | Thursday | Working day | July 15 |
| July 20 | Tuesday | Working day | July 20 |
| July 25 | Sunday | Weekend | July 26, 2027 |
| July 31 | Saturday | Weekend | August 2, 2027 |
The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.
Net terms dated in July 2027
An invoice dated the 1st of July on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on July 31, 2027, which is not a working day under the Indian Central Government calendar. A term counted in calendar days can land anywhere in the week, and roughly two days in seven it lands somewhere nothing settles, which is the ordinary reason a payment shows as late by a day or two without anyone being late.
| Invoice date | Net 30, calendar days | Net 60, calendar days |
|---|---|---|
| Dated July 1 | July 31, 2027 (rolls to August 2, 2027) | August 30, 2027 |
| Dated July 15 | August 14, 2027 (rolls to August 16, 2027) | September 13, 2027 |
| Dated July 31 | August 30, 2027 | September 29, 2027 |
Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the India calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.
