How Genève differs from the Switzerland calculator

Geneva's Loi sur les jours fériés (rsGE J 1 45, art. 1 al. 1) declares nine days: 1 January, Vendredi saint, Lundi de Pâques, Ascension, Lundi de Pentecôte, 1 August, the Jeûne genevois (the Thursday after the first Sunday of September), Noël and 31 December, the Restauration de la République. Against this site's eight-day Swiss baseline that adds the Jeûne genevois and 31 December and drops 26 December, which the list does not include. Art. 1 al. 2 adds a rule for employers outside the federal Labour Act only: when a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following day is a holiday for them. This page does not count those days; between 2026 and 2028 the only weekday the rule reaches is Monday 2 August 2027.
