Canada November deadlines
Section 3 of the Holidays Act makes November 11 a legal holiday throughout Canada under the name Remembrance Day, and section 166 of the Canada Labour Code lists Remembrance Day among its ten general holidays. When November 11 is a non-working Saturday or Sunday, section 193(2) of the Code gives the holiday with pay on the working day immediately preceding or following it; this site's data lists the following Monday, which is this site's choice and not the Code's. The Toronto Stock Exchange's lists of market holidays for 2025 and 2026 do not name Remembrance Day, so a count of trading days follows the exchange's list, not this calculator's.

Those dates in 2026
None of the dates named above falls on a working day in 2026 under the Canadian federal calendar. A fixed calendar date advances by one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, so which side of the working week it lands on changes on a four-year cycle rather than staying put.

Canada reporting cycles and business-day rules
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) says a remitter type sets how often payroll deductions are remitted and affects the due dates. A regular remitter's due date is the 15th day of the next month. An accelerated Threshold 1 remitter remits up to twice a month: for the 1st to the 15th by the 25th day of the same month, and for the 16th to the end of the month by the 10th day of the next month. An accelerated Threshold 2 remitter remits up to four times a month, by the 3rd working day after the 7th, the 14th, the 21st and the last day of the month. A quarterly remitter's due dates are April 15, July 15, October 15 and January 15. When a due date falls on a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday recognized by the CRA, the payment is on time if the CRA receives it, or it is processed at a Canadian financial institution, on or before the next business day. The Toronto Stock Exchange publishes its own list of market closures. Its lists for 2025 and 2026 close the markets on Family Day and the Civic Holiday, which are not among the ten general holidays of section 166 of the Canada Labour Code, and do not list Remembrance Day or the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which are.

How November 2026 compares year over year
November 2025 had 19 business days, so November 2026 has 1 more working day year over year. On the surrounding months, October 2026 has 21 business days and December 2026 has 21. Looking forward, November 2027 has 21 business days under the same Canadian federal holiday calendar.
Using this calculator in Canada
The 20-day count for November 2026 is Monday to Friday less the weekday dates this site's data lists for the ten general holidays that section 166 of the Canada Labour Code lists. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) states an accelerated Threshold 2 remitter's payroll remittance due dates in working days: the 3rd working day after the 7th, the 14th, the 21st and the last day of the month. For its due dates the CRA recognizes its own list of public holidays. The CRA's list of public holidays includes Easter Monday and a Civic Holiday, neither of which is among the Code's ten general holidays, so this calculator's federal list is not the CRA's list.

How November 2026 is shaped
The headline count answers how many business days November 2026 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Canadian federal holiday calendar and a working week that treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.
The middle month of the final quarter
November runs 30 days and is the middle month of Q4. It shares its weekday alignment with March in every year, so a November calendar is a March calendar with a day removed from the end. Sitting between a quarter opening and a year end, it is the month where deferred work is most often assumed to have room and least often measured.
In November 2026 that comes to 20 business days across 30 calendar days, against 21 in October 2026 and 21 in December 2026.
The month opens across a weekend
The 1st of November is a Sunday, a weekend day under the Canadian federal calendar, whose week runs against a Saturday and Sunday weekend. Nothing that settles on working days moves on it. A month that opens this way loses its first working day to the calendar before any holiday is counted, and monthly cycles keyed to the 1st all resolve forward to the same date, which concentrates them.
The month's first working day is Monday, November 2, and November 2026 carries 20 business days in total.
Six working stretches
The month's working days fall into six stretches. Six is the shape a month takes when its weekends divide it evenly and at least one closure lands inside a working week rather than beside one, so the fragmentation is not simply a function of the month's length.
The working days of November 2026 arrive in stretches of 5, 2, 2, 5, 5, and 1 day. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from November 2 to November 6. A task needing more consecutive business days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.
The month is front-loaded. It opens with five consecutive days and closes with one, so capacity thins toward the end. Work deferred out of the first stretch arrives in a shorter one, which is how a schedule that looked comfortable in week one stops fitting.
Two weekdays occur five times
Thirty days is four seven-day cycles plus two, so a 30-day month has exactly two weekdays occurring five times and five occurring four times. Here they are Sunday and Monday. The pair is always consecutive, because the surplus days are the first two of the month repeated at its end.
Only Monday among them is a working day, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the Saturday and Sunday weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.
One closure, and where it lands
November 2026 carries a single Canadian federal closure on a working day: Remembrance Day on Wednesday, November 11. A holiday's cost to a month is not only the day it removes; it is also where the removal falls, because the same closure can extend an existing break or cut a working stretch in half.
The closure sits inside a working week rather than beside a weekend, so it splits one stretch into two shorter ones. The month loses a day and gains an internal boundary, and the second effect is the one a plan built from the total will miss.
seven working days pass before the closure and 13 follow it, which puts the break just short of the month's midpoint. A closure near the middle divides the month into two usable halves rather than trimming one end of it.
The closures around this month
November 2026 carries one Canadian federal closure of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.
Looking outside the month, the last was Thanksgiving on October 12, 2026, 20 calendar days before November began and the next is Christmas Day on December 25, 2026, 25 calendar days after it ends.
Across the whole of 2026 the Canadian federal calendar puts ten closures on working days, of which one falls in November. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.
The month ends where a week begins
The final calendar day of November 2026 is the first working day of a week. A single working day of that week belongs to November and the rest to the month following, which is the least amount of closing capacity a month can have. Anything that must be done "in the last week" of November really has to be done before the preceding weekend.
The last working day of November 2026 is Monday, November 30. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Thursday, November 26, four calendar days before the month closes.
The middle month of the quarter
November is the middle month of Q4. Middle months carry the least visibility in a quarterly cycle: the opening month sets expectations and the closing month is where they are settled, so a shortfall here is the one most likely to be noticed late.
Across the whole quarter there are 62 business days, of which 20 fall in November. The other two months carry October 2026 with 21 and December 2026 with 21. It is the smallest of the three, so the quarter's capacity sits mostly in the other two months and a plan that spreads work evenly across the quarter will over-commit November.
The middle of the working week is the scarcest
The third working day of the week is the one November gives least often. Mid-week scarcity is the easiest kind to absorb, because work pinned to the middle of a week can usually move a day in either direction without crossing a weekend.
Counted as worked rather than as occurring, November 2026 gives Monday 5, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 3, Thursday 4, and Friday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.
One of the year's shortest working months
No month of 2026 carries fewer business days than November under the Canadian federal calendar. Two forces set a month's position in that ranking, its length and its closures, and they can either compound or cancel: a long month with several closures and a short month with none can land on the same count.
2026 carries 251 business days in total under the Canadian federal calendar. The longest month of the year is March 2026 with 22 and the shortest is November 2026 with 20, a spread of 2. November ranks 12th of the twelve with 20.
Canada closures across the year
A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Canada is placed as follows.
Across 2026 the Canadian federal closures fall 1 in Q1, 2 in Q2, 3 in Q3, and 4 in Q4. Every holiday in the Canadian federal data for 2026 falls on a working day, so the country's holiday count and its working-day loss are the same number this year, which is not usually the case.
The longest uninterrupted run in the 2026 calendar sits between January 1, 2026 and April 3, 2026, 92 calendar days with no Canadian federal closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.
Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern
Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Canadian federal calendar is no exception.
2026 opens its Canadian federal closures with New Year's Day on January 1, 2026 and ends them with Boxing Day (observed) on December 28, 2026. The densest month of the year is September 2026 with two closures on working days.
One working day more than last year
There is one more business day in November 2026 than in November 2025: 20 against 19. A single-day swing is the ordinary case, produced by the calendar shifting forward one weekday between consecutive common years, and it is large enough to matter to a monthly target and small enough to be missed.
November opens 2025 on a Saturday, 2026 on a Sunday, and 2027 on a Monday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, November 2027 carries 21 business days.
Where the month's anchor dates fall
Two of the common monthly anchor dates in November 2026 land outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the Canadian federal calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the Canadian federal calendar | First working day on or after |
|---|---|---|---|
| November 1 | Sunday | Weekend | November 2, 2026 |
| November 5 | Thursday | Working day | November 5 |
| November 10 | Tuesday | Working day | November 10 |
| November 15 | Sunday | Weekend | November 16, 2026 |
| November 20 | Friday | Working day | November 20 |
| November 25 | Wednesday | Working day | November 25 |
| November 30 | Monday | Working day | November 30 |
The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.
Net terms dated in November 2026
An invoice dated the 1st of November on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on December 1, 2026, a working day under the Canadian federal calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.
| Invoice date | Net 30, calendar days | Net 60, calendar days |
|---|---|---|
| Dated November 1 | December 1, 2026 | December 31, 2026 |
| Dated November 15 | December 15, 2026 | January 14, 2027 |
| Dated November 30 | December 30, 2026 | January 29, 2027 |
Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Canada calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.
