Saudi Arabia February deadlines
Founding Day is a one-day paid holiday on 22 February of the Gregorian year, one of the four occasions in Article 24 of the Implementing Regulations of the Labour Law. When a holiday falls on the weekly rest day, the same Article gives the worker an equivalent day before or after it, without fixing which. A VAT return for a tax period that ended in January is filed, and the tax paid, by the last day of February, and ZATCA's regulations hold that date whether or not it is a working day. For financial institutions, the Saudi Central Bank's holiday schedule moves a Founding Day or National Day that falls on a Friday to the Thursday and one that falls on a Saturday to the Sunday. Founding Day 2027 is Monday 22 February. February 28, the VAT date, is a Sunday, a working day on the Sunday-to-Thursday week.

Those dates in 2027
Every date named above falls on a working day in 2027 under the Saudi public calendar. That is worth checking rather than assuming: the same calendar date moves through the week from year to year, so a date that settles cleanly this year may not next year.

Saudi Arabia reporting cycles and business-day rules
A VAT return is filed, and the tax paid, by the last day of the month after each tax period, and ZATCA's Implementing Regulations of the VAT Law keep that date whether or not it is a working day; a Working Day, as they define it, is any day except Friday, Saturday and a state holiday. The period is monthly for a taxpayer whose taxable supplies exceeded SAR 40 million in the previous twelve months; three months is the standard period for all others, who may apply for a monthly one. A Zakat payer that keeps accounting books submits the Zakat return, and pays the Zakat, within 120 days of the end of the Zakat year, and a period that ends on an official holiday runs to the first working day after it (Implementing Regulations for Zakat Collection, article 102). The income-tax return is due within 120 days of the end of the tax year under article 60 of the Income Tax Law, as ZATCA quotes it. The royal order of 23 June 2013 made Friday and Saturday the weekly holiday in all ministries, government bodies and institutions, financial institutions, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the Capital Market Authority and the Saudi Stock Exchange.

How February 2027 compares year over year
February 2026 also had 19 working days, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year. On the surrounding months, January 2027 has 21 working days and March 2027 has 19. Looking forward, February 2028 has 18 working days under the same Saudi public holiday calendar.
Using this calculator in Saudi Arabia
Count the 19 business days of February 2027 on the Sunday-to-Thursday week. A royal order of 23 June 2013, as the Saudi Press Agency reported it, made those the official working days in all ministries, government bodies and institutions, financial institutions, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the Capital Market Authority and the Saudi Stock Exchange. Tax dates are not counted in business days: a VAT return is filed, and the tax paid, by the last day of the month after the tax period, whether or not that date is a working day, while the 120 days for the Zakat return, if they end on an official holiday, run on to the first working day after it.

How February 2027 is shaped
The headline count answers how many working days February 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Saudi public holiday calendar and a working week that treats Friday and Saturday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.
The only month whose length changes
February is the shortest month and the only one whose length is not fixed, running 28 days in a common year and 29 in a leap year. A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, which makes it the only month capable of containing precisely four of every weekday. February 2027 runs 28 days, so it has that perfectly regular shape.
In February 2027 that comes to 19 working days across 28 calendar days, against 21 in January 2027 and 20 in March 2027.
A start one day into the week
The 1st falls on the second working day of the week, so February inherits a part-week at the top. One working day of that week was spent in the previous month, which is why a month opening here reads short at the beginning and long at the end. Reporting cut on calendar weeks and reporting cut on the calendar month disagree about where the period starts, and the gap is exactly one working day.
The opening stretch runs from Monday, February 1 to February 4, four working days before the first break. February 2027 carries 19 working days in total, so that opening block is 21% of the month's working capacity.
One working day stands alone
One working day in February 2027 is walled in on both sides. Sunday, February 21 sits between the Friday and Saturday weekend and Founding Day, with no adjacent working day on either side. That single day still counts toward the month's total, but it cannot carry work that needs a second consecutive day, and anything that slips on it slips across a full closure rather than overnight.
The working days of February 2027 arrive in stretches of 4, 5, 5, 1, 3, and 1 day. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from February 7 to February 11. A task needing more consecutive working days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.
The month is front-loaded. It opens with four consecutive days and closes with one, so capacity thins toward the end. Work deferred out of the first stretch arrives in a shorter one, which is how a schedule that looked comfortable in week one stops fitting.
The only perfectly regular month
A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, so every weekday occurs four times and no weekday is over-represented. It is the only month of the year that can be perfectly regular, and it means February's working-day count in a common year depends on nothing but its holidays: the weekday alignment cannot change the answer.
Only Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the Friday and Saturday weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.
One closure, and where it lands
February 2027 carries a single Saudi public closure on a working day: Founding Day on Monday, February 22. A holiday's cost to a month is not only the day it removes; it is also where the removal falls, because the same closure can extend an existing break or cut a working stretch in half.
Placed where it is, the closure also strands a working day: the run structure above shows a stretch of exactly one. That is the expensive shape for a single holiday, because it removes a day and devalues another.
15 working days pass before the closure and only 4 follow it. With the break past the midpoint, most of the month's capacity has already been spent when it arrives, so anything the closure displaces competes for a shrinking remainder.
The closures around this month
February 2027 carries one Saudi public closure of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.
Looking outside the month, the last was Saudi National Day on September 23, 2026, 131 calendar days before February began and the next is Eid al-Fitr (day 1) on March 9, 2027, 9 calendar days after it ends.
Across the whole of 2027 the Saudi public calendar puts eight closures on working days, of which one falls in February. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.
The month ends where a week begins
The final calendar day of February 2027 is the first working day of a week. A single working day of that week belongs to February and the rest to the month following, which is the least amount of closing capacity a month can have. Anything that must be done "in the last week" of February really has to be done before the preceding weekend.
The last working day of February 2027 is Sunday, February 28. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, February 24, four calendar days before the month closes.
The middle month of the quarter
February is the middle month of Q1. Middle months carry the least visibility in a quarterly cycle: the opening month sets expectations and the closing month is where they are settled, so a shortfall here is the one most likely to be noticed late.
Across the whole quarter there are 60 working days, of which 19 fall in February. The other two months carry January 2027 with 21 and March 2027 with 20. It is the smallest of the three, so the quarter's capacity sits mostly in the other two months and a plan that spreads work evenly across the quarter will over-commit February.
The week's second working day is the scarcest
The second working day of the week is the one February gives least often. Weekly cycles that run one day behind the start of the week, which is where most reporting handovers sit, lose an occurrence relative to the rest.
Counted as worked rather than as occurring, February 2027 gives Sunday 4, Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 4, and Thursday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.
Toward the short end of the year
February sits among the shorter working months of 2027 under the Saudi public calendar. A month reaches this end of the ranking either by being short or by absorbing closures, and the two produce the same headline number while behaving differently: a closure fragments the month, a shorter calendar does not.
2027 carries 252 working days in total under the Saudi public calendar. The longest month of the year is August 2027 with 23 and the shortest is May 2027 with 19, a spread of 4. February ranks 11th of the twelve with 19.
Saudi Arabia closures across the year
A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Saudi Arabia is placed as follows.
Across 2027 the Saudi public closures fall 4 in Q1, 3 in Q2, 1 in Q3, and 0 in Q4. A further two holidays land on the Friday and Saturday weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.
The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between May 18, 2027 and September 23, 2027, 128 calendar days with no Saudi public closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.
Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern
Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Saudi public calendar is no exception.
2027 opens its Saudi public closures with Founding Day on February 22, 2027 and ends them with Saudi National Day on September 23, 2027. The densest month of the year is March 2027 with three closures on working days.
The same count as last year
February 2027 and February 2026 carry the same number of working days, 19 in each. An unchanged total does not mean an unchanged month: the working days sit on different dates and break into different stretches, so a schedule copied forward date by date will not line up even though the capacity has not moved.
February opens 2026 on a Sunday, 2027 on a Monday, and 2028 on a Tuesday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, February 2028 carries 17 working days.
Where the month's anchor dates fall
Two of the common monthly anchor dates in February 2027 land outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the Saudi public calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the Saudi public calendar | First working day on or after |
|---|---|---|---|
| February 1 | Monday | Working day | February 1 |
| February 5 | Friday | Weekend | February 7, 2027 |
| February 10 | Wednesday | Working day | February 10 |
| February 15 | Monday | Working day | February 15 |
| February 20 | Saturday | Weekend | February 21, 2027 |
| February 25 | Thursday | Working day | February 25 |
| February 28 | Sunday | Working day | February 28 |
The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.
Net terms dated in February 2027
An invoice dated the 1st of February on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on March 3, 2027, a working day under the Saudi public calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.
| Invoice date | Net 30, calendar days | Net 60, calendar days |
|---|---|---|
| Dated February 1 | March 3, 2027 | April 2, 2027 (rolls to April 4, 2027) |
| Dated February 15 | March 17, 2027 | April 16, 2027 (rolls to April 18, 2027) |
| Dated February 28 | March 30, 2027 | April 29, 2027 |
Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Saudi Arabia calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.
