Vietnam February deadlines

The Labour Code grants five paid days for Tet (Article 112(1)(b)) and leaves the Prime Minister to fix which five each year (Article 112(3)). For 2026, notice 9441/TB-BNV gave public servants Monday 16 to Friday 20 February, a closure from 14 to 22 February with the weekends, and let other employers choose how many of the five fell before the new year. For 2027, notice 11483/TB-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs (9 October 2026) gives public servants Thursday 4 to Wednesday 10 February: the five Tet days and two compensatory days for the two that coincide with the weekend. Other employers choose one, two or three of the five days before the new year. Monthly tax declarations for January are due by February 20, and in 2027 that date is a Saturday, so the deadline moves to Monday 22 February (Decree 252/2026/NĐ-CP, Articles 10(2) and 3(7)).

Those dates in 2027

None of the dates named above falls on a working day in 2027 under the Vietnamese national calendar. A fixed calendar date advances by one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, so which side of the working week it lands on changes on a four-year cycle rather than staying put.

Vietnam reporting cycles and business-day rules

Vietnamese business days in this calculator follow the Labour Code and the public-sector week. Article 112 of Labour Code 45/2019/QH14 grants 11 paid holiday days: New Year's Day, five days for Tet, 30 April, 1 May, National Day on 2 September plus one adjacent day before or after it, and Hung Kings Commemoration Day on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, a paid holiday since Law 84/2007/QH11. Each year the Prime Minister fixes which days Tet and the National Day pair fall on (Article 112(3)), and the Ministry of Home Affairs announces them, as notice 9441/TB-BNV did for 2026. When a weekly rest day coincides with one of these holidays, Article 111(3) gives the worker a compensatory day on the next working day, automatically. From 2026, Resolution 28/2026/QH16 of the National Assembly adds a paid day off on 24 November, Vietnam Culture Day. The Labour Code itself lets an employer place the weekly rest on Sunday or another day (Article 111(2)); the Saturday and Sunday weekend used here is the fixed five-day week that Decision 188/1999/QĐ-TTg set for state agencies. Tax filing follows Decree 252/2026/NĐ-CP, in force with the Law on Tax Administration 108/2025/QH15 from 1 July 2026: the 20th of the following month for taxes declared monthly, the last day of the first month of the next quarter for those declared quarterly, and the next working day when a deadline falls on a day off. The tax authority is Cục Thuế under the Ministry of Finance, which took over from the General Department of Taxation in 2025.

How February 2027 compares year over year

February 2026 also had 15 working days, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year. On the surrounding months, January 2027 has 20 working days and March 2027 has 23. Looking forward, February 2028 has 20 working days under the same Vietnamese national holiday calendar.

Using this calculator in Vietnam

A Ho Chi Minh City finance team uses the 15-day February 2027 count because Decree 252/2026/NĐ-CP moves any tax deadline that lands on a day off to the next working day, so a 20th or a month-end that falls on a holiday or a weekend is filed later than its nominal date. A Hanoi manufacturer plans around Tet, whose five paid days under Article 112 of the Labour Code the Prime Minister places each year; the placement, the weekends around it and any compensatory days together set how long the closure runs. A Da Nang listed company works back from the Ministry of Finance's disclosure limits: 20 days after each quarter for quarterly financial statements and 45 days after the half-year for reviewed half-year statements.

How February 2027 is shaped

The headline count answers how many working days February 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Vietnamese national holiday calendar and a working week that treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.

The only month whose length changes

February is the shortest month and the only one whose length is not fixed, running 28 days in a common year and 29 in a leap year. A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, which makes it the only month capable of containing precisely four of every weekday. February 2027 runs 28 days, so it has that perfectly regular shape.

In February 2027 that comes to 15 working days across 28 calendar days, against 20 in January 2027 and 23 in March 2027.

A clean start to the working week

February 2027 opens on the first working day of the week. That is the alignment where the month's own numbering and the working week agree: week one of the month is a whole working week that belongs entirely to February, with nothing borrowed from the month before. Of the 5 possible starts this is the only one where "the first week" and "the first 5 working days" describe the same span.

The opening stretch runs from Monday, February 1 to February 3, three working days before the first break. February 2027 carries 15 working days in total, so that opening block is 20% of the month's working capacity.

How the working days break up

The working days of February 2027 fall into four separate stretches. The count of stretches matters more than it looks: a month's total is the sum of its runs, but a deliverable that needs consecutive days is limited by the longest single run, and the two numbers move independently.

The working days of February 2027 arrive in stretches of 3, 2, 5, and 5 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from February 15 to February 19. A task needing more consecutive working days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.

The month is back-loaded. It opens with three consecutive days and closes with five, so the room is at the end rather than the start. That is the safer of the two imbalances, because a slip has somewhere to go, but it also makes the opening week a poor sample of the month.

The only perfectly regular month

A 28-day February is exactly four seven-day cycles, so every weekday occurs four times and no weekday is over-represented. It is the only month of the year that can be perfectly regular, and it means February's working-day count in a common year depends on nothing but its holidays: the weekday alignment cannot change the answer.

Only Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday among them are working days, so part of the surplus is absorbed by the Saturday and Sunday weekend and never reaches the working total. That split is why two months of the same length can carry different working-day counts without any holiday being involved.

A month with several closures

February 2027 carries five Vietnamese national closures on working days: Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 1) on February 4, Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 2) on February 5, Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 5) on February 8, Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 6) on February 9, and Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 7) on February 10. At this density the month's working-day total stops being a useful planning number on its own, because the days that remain are cut into short stretches rather than distributed evenly.

The run structure above is the figure to plan against. Where several closures cluster, a month can hold a respectable total and still offer no stretch long enough for a multi-day deliverable, and only the run lengths show that.

three working days pass before the closure and 12 follow it, so the interruption sits near the front of the month. An early closure is the cheaper position of the two: there is more month left afterwards to absorb whatever it displaced.

The closures around this month

February 2027 carries five Vietnamese national closures of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.

Looking outside the month, the last was New Year's Day on January 1, 2027, 31 calendar days before February began and the next is Hung Kings Commemoration Day (approximate) on April 15, 2027, 46 calendar days after it ends.

Across the whole of 2027 the Vietnamese national calendar puts 12 closures on working days, of which five fall in February. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.

The month ends over a weekend

February 2027 ends on a Sunday, which this calendar treats as weekend. Month-end processing cannot happen on the last calendar day, so it happens earlier and the last few dates of the month carry no settlement at all. The distance between the final working day and the final calendar day is where month-end reconciliations go missing.

The last working day of February 2027 is Friday, February 26. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Wednesday, February 24, four calendar days before the month closes.

The working month ends on the last working day of a week, so the final stretch is a complete one and nothing is left hanging mid-week. Two calendar days of February follow it with nothing settling on them.

The middle month of the quarter

February is the middle month of Q1. Middle months carry the least visibility in a quarterly cycle: the opening month sets expectations and the closing month is where they are settled, so a shortfall here is the one most likely to be noticed late.

Across the whole quarter there are 58 working days, of which 15 fall in February. The other two months carry January 2027 with 20 and March 2027 with 23. It is the smallest of the three, so the quarter's capacity sits mostly in the other two months and a plan that spreads work evenly across the quarter will over-commit February.

Every working weekday occurs the same number of times

February 2027 works each weekday of its week the same number of times. That is the flat case, and it is the only one where a weekly recurring commitment costs the same whichever weekday it is pinned to. It happens when the month's length and its closures happen to cancel, not because the month is regular: the calendar census above and this one can agree for quite different reasons.

Counted as worked rather than as occurring, February 2027 gives Monday 3, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 3, Thursday 3, and Friday 3. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.

One of the year's shortest working months

No month of 2027 carries fewer working days than February under the Vietnamese national calendar. Two forces set a month's position in that ranking, its length and its closures, and they can either compound or cancel: a long month with several closures and a short month with none can land on the same count.

2027 carries 249 working days in total under the Vietnamese national calendar. The longest month of the year is March 2027 with 23 and the shortest is February 2027 with 15, a spread of 8. February ranks 12th of the twelve with 15.

Inside one of the year's denser months

February 2027 carries more than one Vietnamese national closure, which puts it among the year's denser months. Closures are never spread evenly across a year, so a month's own count says as much about the country's calendar as about the month.

Across 2027 the Vietnamese national closures fall 6 in Q1, 3 in Q2, 2 in Q3, and 1 in Q4. A further three holidays land on the Saturday and Sunday weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.

The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between May 3, 2027 and September 2, 2027, 122 calendar days with no Vietnamese national closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.

Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern

Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Vietnamese national calendar is no exception.

2027 opens its Vietnamese national closures with New Year's Day on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Vietnam Culture Day on November 24, 2027. The densest month of the year is February 2027 with five closures on working days.

The same count as last year

February 2027 and February 2026 carry the same number of working days, 15 in each. An unchanged total does not mean an unchanged month: the working days sit on different dates and break into different stretches, so a schedule copied forward date by date will not line up even though the capacity has not moved.

February opens 2026 on a Sunday, 2027 on a Monday, and 2028 on a Tuesday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, February 2028 carries 20 working days.

Anchor dates that do not fall on working days

Four of the common monthly anchor dates in February 2027 land on a day this calendar does not work. A month with this many blocked anchors pushes several cycles onto the same few dates, because each of them resolves forward to the next available working day and those tend to be shared.

DateWeekdayStatus under the Vietnamese national calendarFirst working day on or after

The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.

Net terms dated in February 2027

An invoice dated the 1st of February on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on March 3, 2027, a working day under the Vietnamese national calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.

Invoice dateNet 30, calendar daysNet 60, calendar days

Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Vietnam calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are in February 2027 under the Vietnamese national holiday calendar?
February 2027 has 15 working days under the Vietnamese national holiday calendar. The month spans 28 calendar days, of which 8 fall on a weekend and 5 are Vietnamese national holidays that land on a weekday. The remaining 15 weekdays are countable as working days for invoicing, deadline tracking, and contract math.
Which Vietnam holidays affect February 2027?
February 2027 contains 5 Vietnamese national holidays: Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 1) on Thursday, February 4; Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 2) on Friday, February 5; Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 5) on Monday, February 8; Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 6) on Tuesday, February 9; Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 7) on Wednesday, February 10. The calculator skips each of them. Regional or industry-specific closures may add further non-working days for narrower contract definitions; layer them into the calculator's Advanced options if needed.
How long is the Tet closure each year?
Article 112 of the Labour Code grants five paid days for Tet, and Article 112(3) leaves the Prime Minister to fix which five each year; the Ministry of Home Affairs then announces the arrangement. The closure people plan around is longer because the five days are joined to the weekends on either side, and because Article 111(3) adds a compensatory working day for any of them that lands on a weekly rest day. For 2026, notice 9441/TB-BNV gave public servants Monday 16 to Friday 20 February, which with the two weekends made a closure from 14 to 22 February, and left private employers to take one, two or three days before the new year and the rest after it. This calculator follows the published arrangement where one exists and tags later years' Tet dates (approximate) until it does; either way a year costs five working days for Tet.
When is Hung Kings Commemoration Day?
Hung Kings Commemoration Day (Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) falls on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, so its Gregorian date moves from year to year. Law 84/2007/QH11 added it to the paid holidays of the then Labour Code in 2007, and Article 112 of the 2019 Code keeps it. When it falls on a weekly rest day, Article 111(3) gives the next working day off automatically, with no decree needed: 26 April 2026 was a Sunday, so Monday 27 April was the day off.
Why does the business-day count vary year to year?
Two things shift the monthly count for Vietnam. First, the day of the week the first of the month lands on changes the count of each weekday. Second, Vietnamese national holidays anchored to a fixed date shift their weekday across years. Some years a fixed-date holiday lands on a weekend; some countries shift the observance to an adjacent weekday and some absorb it into the weekend. February 2026 also had 15 working days, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year.
When is the last working day of February 2027?
The last working day of February 2027 under the Vietnamese national calendar is Friday, February 26. The month's last calendar day is Sunday, February 28, which is not a working day, so month-end processing has to happen two calendar days earlier than the calendar suggests. Counting back, the third-to-last working day is Wednesday, February 24.
How many working days in a row does February 2027 offer?
February 2027 has 15 working days in total, but they do not run consecutively. They arrive in four stretches of 3, 2, 5, and 5 days, so the longest unbroken run is five days, from February 15 to February 19. No working day in the month is isolated between two closures.
