Business Days in March 2027 for Vietnam

March 2027 has 23 working days under the Vietnamese national holiday calendar. March 2027 contains no Vietnamese national holidays on a weekday. The month covers 31 calendar days, of which 8 are Saturday and Sunday. That count drives invoice cycles, payroll runs, and any contract that defines deadlines as a number of working days in Vietnam.

public holidays in March 2027

No Vietnamese national holidays fall on a weekday in March 2027, so the month loses no working day to a holiday on this calendar.

Vietnam March deadlines

No Article 112 holiday falls in March. Taxpayers whose tax year is the calendar year file their finalisation declarations by March 31, the last day of the third month after the period ends (Decree 252/2026/NĐ-CP, Article 10(5)(a)), and monthly declarations for February are due by March 20; where a deadline lands on a day off, Article 3(7) carries it to the next working day. Public companies publish audited annual financial statements within 10 days of the auditor's report and no later than 90 days after the year-end, so a calendar-year company's fall due by the end of March (Circular 96/2020/TT-BTC, Article 10).

Vietnam reporting cycles and business-day rules

Vietnamese business days in this calculator follow the Labour Code and the public-sector week. Article 112 of Labour Code 45/2019/QH14 grants 11 paid holiday days: New Year's Day, five days for Tet, 30 April, 1 May, National Day on 2 September plus one adjacent day before or after it, and Hung Kings Commemoration Day on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, a paid holiday since Law 84/2007/QH11. Each year the Prime Minister fixes which days Tet and the National Day pair fall on (Article 112(3)), and the Ministry of Home Affairs announces them, as notice 9441/TB-BNV did for 2026. When a weekly rest day coincides with one of these holidays, Article 111(3) gives the worker a compensatory day on the next working day, automatically. From 2026, Resolution 28/2026/QH16 of the National Assembly adds a paid day off on 24 November, Vietnam Culture Day. The Labour Code itself lets an employer place the weekly rest on Sunday or another day (Article 111(2)); the Saturday and Sunday weekend used here is the fixed five-day week that Decision 188/1999/QĐ-TTg set for state agencies. Tax filing follows Decree 252/2026/NĐ-CP, in force with the Law on Tax Administration 108/2025/QH15 from 1 July 2026: the 20th of the following month for taxes declared monthly, the last day of the first month of the next quarter for those declared quarterly, and the next working day when a deadline falls on a day off. The tax authority is Cục Thuế under the Ministry of Finance, which took over from the General Department of Taxation in 2025.

How March 2027 compares year over year

March 2026 had 22 working days, so March 2027 has 1 more working day year over year. On the surrounding months, February 2027 has 15 working days and April 2027 has 20. Looking forward, March 2028 has 23 working days under the same Vietnamese national holiday calendar.

Using this calculator in Vietnam

A Ho Chi Minh City finance team uses the 23-day March 2027 count because Decree 252/2026/NĐ-CP moves any tax deadline that lands on a day off to the next working day, so a 20th or a month-end that falls on a holiday or a weekend is filed later than its nominal date. A Hanoi manufacturer plans around Tet, whose five paid days under Article 112 of the Labour Code the Prime Minister places each year; the placement, the weekends around it and any compensatory days together set how long the closure runs. A Da Nang listed company works back from the Ministry of Finance's disclosure limits: 20 days after each quarter for quarterly financial statements and 45 days after the half-year for reviewed half-year statements.

How March 2027 is shaped

The headline count answers how many working days March 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the Vietnamese national holiday calendar and a working week that treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.

The month that closes the first quarter

March closes Q1 and is one of the seven 31-day months. Because it ends a quarter, its final working day is also the quarter's final working day, so a March count carries two boundaries rather than one. It is also the month in which the Gregorian year's day-of-week pattern first repeats: March and November always share the same weekday alignment in any given year.

In March 2027 that comes to 23 working days across 31 calendar days, against 15 in February 2027 and 20 in April 2027.

A clean start to the working week

March 2027 opens on the first working day of the week. That is the alignment where the month's own numbering and the working week agree: week one of the month is a whole working week that belongs entirely to March, with nothing borrowed from the month before. Of the 5 possible starts this is the only one where "the first week" and "the first 5 working days" describe the same span.

The opening stretch runs from Monday, March 1 to March 5, five working days before the first break. March 2027 carries 23 working days in total, so that opening block is 22% of the month's working capacity.

Five working stretches

March splits into five working stretches. That is the ordinary shape of a month whose only interruptions are its weekends, and it means the month's internal boundaries are all predictable a year in advance: nothing here depends on a holiday date moving.

The working days of March 2027 arrive in stretches of 5, 5, 5, 5, and 3 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from March 1 to March 5. A task needing more consecutive working days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.

The month is front-loaded. It opens with five consecutive days and closes with three, so capacity thins toward the end. Work deferred out of the first stretch arrives in a shorter one, which is how a schedule that looked comfortable in week one stops fitting.

Three weekdays occur five times

A 31-day month contains four full seven-day cycles and three days over, so exactly three weekdays occur five times and the other four occur four times. In March 2027 the three are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Which three it is follows entirely from the weekday the month opens on, which is why the working-day count of a 31-day month moves year to year even when its holidays do not.

All of them are working days here, so the surplus lands entirely on the working week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each occur 5 times. A weekend of two days can take at most two of them, and had it done so the same month would carry 21 working days rather than 23.

A month with no closures, and a long one

March 2027 contains no Vietnamese national holiday on any date, working or otherwise. A month with no closure loses working days only to weekends, so its count is set entirely by the weekday it opens on and its length, and here both work in the month's favour: 23 working days across 31 calendar days.

Months at this end of the range are the ones worth reserving for work that needs consecutive days rather than cumulative days. The constraint that usually breaks a long run, a closure landing mid-week, is absent, so the month's structure is entirely weekend-driven and repeats on a seven-day cycle.

The closures on either side of the month

Nothing closes inside March 2027 under the Vietnamese national calendar, so the useful question is what sits on either side of it. Adjacent closures matter to a monthly plan because deadlines that fall near a month boundary are usually satisfied on the other side of it.

Looking outside the month, the last was Lunar New Year (Tet) (day 7) on February 10, 2027, 19 calendar days before March began and the next is Hung Kings Commemoration Day (approximate) on April 15, 2027, 15 calendar days after it ends.

Across the whole of 2027 the Vietnamese national calendar puts 12 closures on working days, of which none falls in March. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.

A midweek close

The month ends in the middle of a working week. Two working days of the final calendar week fall in March and the remainder in the month after, which makes the closing week a partial period on both sides. A midweek close is the pattern most likely to push month-end tasks into the following month by default, simply because the week continues past the boundary.

The last working day of March 2027 is Wednesday, March 31. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Monday, March 29, two calendar days before the month closes.

The quarter closes here

March closes Q1, so the quarter's last working day and this month's last working day are the same date. Everything the quarter has deferred arrives inside these 23 working days, and there is no further month in the period to move it into.

Across the whole quarter there are 58 working days, of which 23 fall in March. The other two months carry January 2027 with 20 and February 2027 with 15. It is the largest of the three, so work deferred out of March lands in a month with less room than this one had.

The week's fourth working day is the scarcest

The fourth working day of the week is the one March gives least often. It is the position that carries most pre-weekend handover work, so an occurrence lost here tends to push into the following week rather than into the next day.

Counted as worked rather than as occurring, March 2027 gives Monday 5, Tuesday 5, Wednesday 5, Thursday 4, and Friday 4. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.

One of the year's longest working months

No month of 2027 carries more working days than March under the Vietnamese national calendar. A year's working days are not distributed evenly across its twelve months, and the gap between the longest and the shortest is wide enough that a target divided by twelve is wrong in both directions.

2027 carries 249 working days in total under the Vietnamese national calendar. The longest month of the year is March 2027 with 23 and the shortest is February 2027 with 15, a spread of 8. March ranks 1st of the twelve with 23.

Vietnam closures across the year

A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and Vietnam is placed as follows.

Across 2027 the Vietnamese national closures fall 6 in Q1, 3 in Q2, 2 in Q3, and 1 in Q4. A further three holidays land on the Saturday and Sunday weekend and cost no working day at all, which is why a country's holiday count and its working-day loss are different numbers.

The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between May 3, 2027 and September 2, 2027, 122 calendar days with no Vietnamese national closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.

Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern

Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the Vietnamese national calendar is no exception.

2027 opens its Vietnamese national closures with New Year's Day on January 1, 2027 and ends them with Vietnam Culture Day on November 24, 2027. The densest month of the year is February 2027 with five closures on working days.

One working day more than last year

There is one more working day in March 2027 than in March 2026: 23 against 22. A single-day swing is the ordinary case, produced by the calendar shifting forward one weekday between consecutive common years, and it is large enough to matter to a monthly target and small enough to be missed.

March opens 2026 on a Sunday, 2027 on a Monday, and 2028 on a Wednesday. That movement, one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, is what makes the three counts differ. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, March 2028 carries 23 working days.

Where the month's anchor dates fall

One of the common monthly anchor dates in March 2027 lands outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the Vietnamese national calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.

DateWeekdayStatus under the Vietnamese national calendarFirst working day on or after
March 1MondayWorking dayMarch 1
March 5FridayWorking dayMarch 5
March 10WednesdayWorking dayMarch 10
March 15MondayWorking dayMarch 15
March 20SaturdayWeekendMarch 22, 2027
March 25ThursdayWorking dayMarch 25
March 31WednesdayWorking dayMarch 31

The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.

Net terms dated in March 2027

An invoice dated the 1st of March on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on March 31, 2027, a working day under the Vietnamese national calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.

Invoice dateNet 30, calendar daysNet 60, calendar days
Dated March 1March 31, 2027April 30, 2027 (rolls to May 4, 2027)

Dated March 31April 30, 2027 (rolls to May 4, 2027)May 30, 2027 (rolls to May 31, 2027)

Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the Vietnam calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are in March 2027 under the Vietnamese national holiday calendar?
March 2027 has 23 working days under the Vietnamese national holiday calendar. The month spans 31 calendar days, of which 8 fall on a weekend and 0 are Vietnamese national holidays that land on a weekday. The remaining 23 weekdays are countable as working days for invoicing, deadline tracking, and contract math.
Which Vietnam holidays affect March 2027?
March 2027 contains no Vietnamese national holidays that fall on a weekday, so on this calculator's holiday set the month loses no working day.
How long is the Tet closure each year?
Article 112 of the Labour Code grants five paid days for Tet, and Article 112(3) leaves the Prime Minister to fix which five each year; the Ministry of Home Affairs then announces the arrangement. The closure people plan around is longer because the five days are joined to the weekends on either side, and because Article 111(3) adds a compensatory working day for any of them that lands on a weekly rest day. For 2026, notice 9441/TB-BNV gave public servants Monday 16 to Friday 20 February, which with the two weekends made a closure from 14 to 22 February, and left private employers to take one, two or three days before the new year and the rest after it. This calculator follows the published arrangement where one exists and tags later years' Tet dates (approximate) until it does; either way a year costs five working days for Tet.
When is Hung Kings Commemoration Day?
Hung Kings Commemoration Day (Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) falls on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, so its Gregorian date moves from year to year. Law 84/2007/QH11 added it to the paid holidays of the then Labour Code in 2007, and Article 112 of the 2019 Code keeps it. When it falls on a weekly rest day, Article 111(3) gives the next working day off automatically, with no decree needed: 26 April 2026 was a Sunday, so Monday 27 April was the day off.
Why does the business-day count vary year to year?
Two things shift the monthly count for Vietnam. First, the day of the week the first of the month lands on changes the count of each weekday. Second, Vietnamese national holidays anchored to a fixed date shift their weekday across years. Some years a fixed-date holiday lands on a weekend; some countries shift the observance to an adjacent weekday and some absorb it into the weekend. March 2026 had 22 working days, so March 2027 has 1 more working day year over year.
When is the last working day of March 2027?
The last working day of March 2027 under the Vietnamese national calendar is Wednesday, March 31. The month's last calendar day is Wednesday, March 31, so the two are the same date this year. Counting back, the third-to-last working day is Monday, March 29.
How many working days in a row does March 2027 offer?
March 2027 has 23 working days in total, but they do not run consecutively. They arrive in five stretches of 5, 5, 5, 5, and 3 days, so the longest unbroken run is five days, from March 1 to March 5. No working day in the month is isolated between two closures.
