United States June deadlines
June closes the second quarter for calendar-year filers. A corporation makes its second estimated tax payment by June 15, the 15th day of the sixth month of its tax year, and individuals paying estimated tax reach their second instalment on the same date. Juneteenth on June 19 is the month's only federal holiday. Federal agencies enter the last quarter of the government's fiscal year, which ends September 30.

United States reporting cycles and business-day rules
Periods under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure are not counted in business days. Rule 6(a)(1) excludes the day of the event that triggers the period and counts every day after it, including intermediate Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays; when the last day is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the period runs to the end of the next day that is none of those. Before the 2009 amendment the rule left intermediate Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays out of periods shorter than 11 days, and that exclusion no longer applies. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, this calculator leaves out the Friday before it, which 5 U.S.C. 6103(b) makes the holiday for federal employees on a Monday-to-Friday workweek; the Federal Reserve Banks stay open that Friday. Estimated tax payments of a corporation are due on the 15th day of the 4th, 6th, 9th and 12th months of its tax year, which for a calendar-year corporation is April 15, June 15, September 15 and December 15. IRS Publication 509 states the general rule that an act due on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday is timely on the next day that is none of those, and by legal holiday it means any legal holiday in the District of Columbia.

How June 2027 compares year over year
June 2026 also had 21 business days, so the working capacity is unchanged year over year. On the surrounding months, May 2027 has 20 business days and July 2027 has 21. Looking forward, June 2028 has 21 business days under the same US federal holiday calendar.
Using this calculator in United States
The 21 business days in June 2027 are the count to use for invoice due dates, contract deadlines and SLA windows stated in business days. Federal contracts under the FAR count in calendar days, because FAR 2.101 defines a day as a calendar day unless otherwise specified. For an invoice payment, FAR 32.904(b)(1) sets the due date at the later of the 30th day after the designated billing office receives a proper invoice and the 30th day after government acceptance of the supplies or services. Paragraphs (c) through (f) of the same section set other dates for architect-engineer, construction, cost-reimbursement service and food contracts.

How June 2027 is shaped
The headline count answers how many business days June 2027 contains. It does not answer where they sit, and for anything measured in consecutive days rather than cumulative days that second question is the binding one. What follows is derived entirely from the US federal holiday calendar and a working week that treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, with no assumption about how any particular obligation behaves.
The month that closes the first half of the year
June runs 30 days, closes Q2 and closes the first half of the calendar year, so its last working day carries three boundaries at once: month, quarter and half-year. It is one of only two months that can do that. June and February also share a weekday alignment in a common year, which means a June calendar is the February calendar extended by two days.
In June 2027 that comes to 21 business days across 30 calendar days, against 20 in May 2027 and 21 in July 2027.
A start one day into the week
The 1st falls on the second working day of the week, so June inherits a part-week at the top. One working day of that week was spent in the previous month, which is why a month opening here reads short at the beginning and long at the end. Reporting cut on calendar weeks and reporting cut on the calendar month disagree about where the period starts, and the gap is exactly one working day.
The opening stretch runs from Tuesday, June 1 to June 4, four business days before the first break. June 2027 carries 21 business days in total, so that opening block is 19% of the month's working capacity.
Five working stretches
June splits into five working stretches. That is the ordinary shape of a month whose only interruptions are its weekends, and it means the month's internal boundaries are all predictable a year in advance: nothing here depends on a holiday date moving.
The working days of June 2027 arrive in stretches of 4, 5, 4, 5, and 3 days. The longest unbroken stretch runs five days, from June 7 to June 11. A task needing more consecutive business days than that cannot be completed inside a single stretch, whatever the month's total looks like.
The month is front-loaded. It opens with four consecutive days and closes with three, so capacity thins toward the end. Work deferred out of the first stretch arrives in a shorter one, which is how a schedule that looked comfortable in week one stops fitting.
Two weekdays occur five times
Thirty days is four seven-day cycles plus two, so a 30-day month has exactly two weekdays occurring five times and five occurring four times. Here they are Tuesday and Wednesday. The pair is always consecutive, because the surplus days are the first two of the month repeated at its end.
All of them are working days here, so the surplus lands entirely on the working week: Tuesday and Wednesday each occur 5 times. Had the surplus fallen on the weekend instead, the same month would carry 19 business days rather than 21.
One closure, and where it lands
June 2027 carries a single US federal closure on a working day: Juneteenth (observed) on Friday, June 18. A holiday's cost to a month is not only the day it removes; it is also where the removal falls, because the same closure can extend an existing break or cut a working stretch in half.
It sits directly beside a weekend rather than inside a working week, so it extends an existing break instead of creating a new one. That is the cheapest position a holiday can occupy: the month loses a day but keeps its shape.
13 working days pass before the closure and only 8 follow it. With the break past the midpoint, most of the month's capacity has already been spent when it arrives, so anything the closure displaces competes for a shrinking remainder.
The closures around this month
June 2027 carries one US federal closure of its own, and the months on either side add their own. Where a deadline sits close to a month boundary, the closure that moves it is as likely to be outside the month as inside it.
Looking outside the month, the last was Memorial Day on May 31, 2027, 1 calendar day before June began and the next is Independence Day (observed) on July 5, 2027, 5 calendar days after it ends.
Across the whole of 2027 the US federal calendar puts 12 closures on working days, of which one falls in June. That ratio, rather than the raw count, is what tells you whether a month is carrying more than its share of the year's downtime.
A midweek close
The month ends in the middle of a working week. Two working days of the final calendar week fall in June and the remainder in the month after, which makes the closing week a partial period on both sides. A midweek close is the pattern most likely to push month-end tasks into the following month by default, simply because the week continues past the boundary.
The last working day of June 2027 is Wednesday, June 30. Counting back from there, the third-to-last is Monday, June 28, two calendar days before the month closes.
The quarter closes here
June closes Q2, so the quarter's last working day and this month's last working day are the same date. Everything the quarter has deferred arrives inside these 21 business days, and there is no further month in the period to move it into.
Across the whole quarter there are 63 business days, of which 21 fall in June. The other two months carry April 2027 with 22 and May 2027 with 20. It sits between the other two, which makes it the month where a quarterly plan is least likely to be thrown off by the calendar alone.
The week's last working day is the scarcest
The last working day of the week is the one June gives least often. That matters more than the equivalent shortfall mid-week, because end-of-week cutoffs tend to be the ones that cannot move: work deferred past them waits out the whole weekend rather than a single night.
Counted as worked rather than as occurring, June 2027 gives Monday 4, Tuesday 5, Wednesday 5, Thursday 4, and Friday 3. A weekly commitment pinned to a particular weekday fires that many times in the month, which is the number a rota needs and not the one the calendar shows.
Toward the long end of the year
June sits among the longer working months of 2027 under the US federal calendar. Where a month falls in that ranking is decided by two independent things, its calendar length and how many closures land on its working days, so a month can move several places between adjacent years without its length changing at all.
2027 carries 249 business days in total under the US federal calendar. The longest month of the year is March 2027 with 23 and the shortest is February 2027 with 19, a spread of 4. June ranks 4th of the twelve with 21.
United States closures across the year
A month's working-day count only means something against the country's whole calendar. Two countries that share a weekend and happen to have the same closure-free month can still run very different years, and United States is placed as follows.
Across 2027 the US federal closures fall 3 in Q1, 2 in Q2, 2 in Q3, and 5 in Q4. Every holiday in the US federal data for 2027 falls on a working day, so the country's holiday count and its working-day loss are the same number this year, which is not usually the case.
The longest uninterrupted run in the 2027 calendar sits between February 15, 2027 and May 31, 2027, 105 calendar days with no US federal closure in between. Stretches like that are where multi-week work belongs, and they move from year to year whenever a movable holiday does.
Where the month sits in the year's closure pattern
Closures are not spread evenly across a calendar year. They cluster around fixed anniversaries and around whichever lunar or movable feasts a jurisdiction observes, so two adjacent months can carry very different loads, and the US federal calendar is no exception.
2027 opens its US federal closures with New Year's Day on January 1, 2027 and ends them with New Year's Day 2028 (observed) on December 31, 2027. The densest month of the year is January 2027 with two closures on working days.
The same count as last year
June 2027 and June 2026 carry the same number of business days, 21 in each. An unchanged total does not mean an unchanged month: the working days sit on different dates and break into different stretches, so a schedule copied forward date by date will not line up even though the capacity has not moved.
June opens 2026 on a Monday, 2027 on a Tuesday, and 2028 on a Thursday. The alignment moves every year, by one weekday in a common year and two after a leap day, and here it happens to leave the totals level while changing which dates the working days sit on. The number of closures on working days is the same in both years, so the whole of any difference comes from weekday alignment. Looking ahead, June 2028 carries 21 business days.
Where the month's anchor dates fall
Two of the common monthly anchor dates in June 2027 land outside the working week or on a closure. The table below resolves each one against the US federal calendar, together with the first working day on or after it.
| Date | Weekday | Status under the US federal calendar | First working day on or after |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 1 | Tuesday | Working day | June 1 |
| June 5 | Saturday | Weekend | June 7, 2027 |
| June 10 | Thursday | Working day | June 10 |
| June 15 | Tuesday | Working day | June 15 |
| June 20 | Sunday | Weekend | June 21, 2027 |
| June 25 | Friday | Working day | June 25 |
| June 30 | Wednesday | Working day | June 30 |
The final column is arithmetic, not a legal conclusion. Whether an obligation actually moves when its date is not a working day depends on the instrument that sets it, and this site does not assume a shift rule for any jurisdiction. Where a rule is known it is stated in the holiday data methodology and on the country page it applies to.
Net terms dated in June 2027
An invoice dated the 1st of June on calendar-day Net 30 terms comes due on July 1, 2027, a working day under the US federal calendar. Terms counted in calendar days move independently of the working week, so the same term written on two consecutive months can settle cleanly in one and roll across a closure in the other.
| Invoice date | Net 30, calendar days | Net 60, calendar days |
|---|---|---|
| Dated June 1 | July 1, 2027 | July 31, 2027 (rolls to August 2, 2027) |
| Dated June 15 | July 15, 2027 | August 14, 2027 (rolls to August 16, 2027) |
| Dated June 30 | July 30, 2027 | August 29, 2027 (rolls to August 30, 2027) |
Net 30 and Net 60 are commercial conventions rather than statutory periods, and both are counted here in calendar days, which is how they are almost always written. Where a contract counts in working days instead, use the between-dates calculator with the United States calendar selected, because the two produce different dates whenever a closure falls inside the term.
